Unhappy Stiletto signal drops WITH antenna headphones

Ok, is there something wrong with my radio? The reception is worse when I plug in either my antenna headphones that came with it or dock it to the car dock. If I have 1 or 2 bars standing alone, it drops to 1 or even goes to "aquiring signal" as soon as I plug in the headphones or put it in the car dock. The car dock has tons of drop outs and I actually get a better signal just laying it on my dash board. Is this a bad radio or am I missing something? I'm outside the 30 day return window since it took 31 days for my car dock to come and I thought that would make it better. Anyone else had this problem?

I hear you. I bought the Stiletto last Friday, purchased the home kit on Sunday and am extremely disappointed in the reception. I took a walk this afternoon and had no aerial obstructions and it cut out at least once every 20 seconds and sometimes was acquiring signal for up to a minute. I don't like in a remote area either.

The home kit proves to be working with the antenna out on my back porch, but I could have purchased a much cheaper alternative than this from Sirius and I may have to return it as a result.

Just to let you know, Sirius is having a major issue right now. It's not your radios.

Well, I wish it was just a recent problem. I've had the stiletto for 4 weeks now and it has never given me good reception. Have there been problems in Denver for a month? I've never seen the sat signal more than about 1/3 and never get a terrestrial signal. I live in Highlands Ranch and drive to Colorado Springs every day. I love the display and the unit in general, but without reception, it's worthless.

Ok, any of you with a Stiletto that doesn't get good reception out of the box, take it back! I got my Stiletto 5 weeks ago and thought that the reception problem was just "normal" and that a car kit would fix the problem. When it didn't I took it back (I bought the protection plan from circuit city) and the new one I got works awesome! My father in law walked all over Denver today, in and out of stores, listenening to the Bears game with no drop outs. In the car, the sat signal pegs to max. I'm a happy camper.

I wonder how common this is. My reception is spotty as well, though not horrendous. I currently have the SL10. But am thinking of keeping it till after Christmas when stores return policy's are more laxed and "exchanging" it for the 100, though I really don't need all it's features. Either way i will probably do that to exchange it and grab the home dock so I can take advantage of the rebate. Maybe I will get a bit better reception with a different unit.

I live in Lakewood and get very good reception with car dock, home dock, antenna headphones and even bare. We are fortunate to have a couple of repeaters nearby:
