Default blue shade on the screen

It seems like I read about this a while back from someone, but since I didn't have my stiletto yet, I didn't know what you were talking about. Why is there that blue vertical shade on the screen constantly, especially when listening in satellite and wifi mode. Is this just me or everyone??? It's nothing major, just kind of annoying.

It is really annoying. I can't stand it and would like to exchange my Stiletto for one that DOESN't do this but they all do.

It really takes away from the Wallpapers. This is one of those little things that bothers you more and more the longer you have your SL100.

According to the folks I spoke too this is by design. Initially it bothered me, but heck I've gotten use to it now. It doesn't impact the readability of the display, it really just takes away from the wallpaper themselves. I don't stare at my display all day long and in fact most of the time when in my office when in wifi mode, the display is off. Its a minor thing in my opinion and as long as the Stiletto is stable in every other way, I am just not worried about it.

Dab:

Why is it by design? Why would they offer wallpapers and then purposly degrade them?

I'm not yellin at ya, just curious as to what your Inside man said.

Actually Vargas the blue is in the wallpapers. I argued this point till I was blue in the face, I kept saying, no the blue is coming over the top of the wallpaper, they said no the blue is in the wallpaper. But when you look at the wallpaper it certainly doesn't look that way, but that is their claim.

Gotcha, like I said it's nothing major I just wanted to make sure it wasn't just mine. I'm sure I will get used to it. Other than that not a problem!!! I can go anywhere in new orleans with the regular headphones and get 2-3bars. Even inside my house, gym, and area that I run! this thing freaking rocks!!!

My question. Why have nice pictures at all if they are just going to cover them up. Why not just put some flashy visualizations such as media player has that dances to the music. That would serve the same purpose and not piss off everyone.

We all know the custom bitmaps were a big hit with S50. ALLOW US TO DOWNLOAD OUR OWN! Don't cover them up with some smoke!

Mike I really don't think this pisses everyone off, but I agree with you. I think the wallpaper should be clear and clean with no blue in it and they should be user configurable so we could use whatever we want.

It doesn't really piss me off. . . much. It mostly bugs the snot out of me.
The closest thing to a reason that they could have would be:
1. They think it's a cool and trendy design element. . . .
2. They think it's a screen saver
3. They are hopped up on peyote and like the pretty color
4. It's an artifact caused by having the antenna so flippin close to the display screen that they get this crazy blue color squidgie across the screen, and since they designed the antenna to work, and it would take a tremendous amount reengineering on a product that everybody was desperate to get on the market, that the conscious design decision was to leave the aforementioned "blue squidgie" as is and not alter the antenna reception/design to make it go away.

I like #4 personally. Feel free to round out the
TOP TEN REASONS THE SIRIUS ENGINEERS “DESIGNED” THE BLUE SQUIDGIE!

Anton, drum roll please. . . . .

Stiletto 200 improvements...

1) No "blue thingy" on the screen
2) Padded satellite headphones
3) Manual recordings don't blow away scheduled recordings

It's all in the details... I know I would upgrade!

I have to say, it doesn't piss me off at all. Actually, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. Maybe I am just not understanding, but I don't see the blue shade thing (or whatever the description was). Incredibly, the music matters more to me than the pictures As long as the screen tells me what song and channel I am on, all is well.

The animated blue flame is f_cking annoying to say the least. It should not be there ON TOP of the channel background or smeared into the channel logo. I can not believe it was done this way by design - but who knows. I hope that a firmware release will get rid of it or delegate it to the bottom layer - make the "background" opaque and quit messing up my display! but other than that I am loving my S100 like nobody's business!
