Default Speck Executive Case

Just received mine this week. Initial impressions are I like it. Looks sharp and appears well made. I like the magnetic clasp to keep it shut. At first I didn't think I'd like the built in belt clip, but its pretty thin and will probably come in handy.

Still waiting for mine (8 days). It's in USPS Thanksgiving limbo.

Some pics would be nice if you could do that for those potentially interested forum members.

I'd like some pictures of the belt clip. That's the one thing I'm not crazy about with both the leather case and the one with the armband. Both have a clip that is about as wide as the radio itself.

I will try to take some pictures and post, but it might not be for a day or two as I am heading out of town for thanksgiving in the morning. The Speck website has some new photos of it as well if you want to check them out. http://www.speckproducts.com/stil-leather-ds.html By the way, I purchased mine off of eBay. Paid a little extra for it ($37 shipped), but I was getting tired of waiting for it to be available elsewhere.

Live "in the raw" pics are generally preferable for me so if you get a chance that would great. Thanks!

Default There are some GREAT pictures on the Speck Web pages

They do a real good job of showing the details on the Speck Web pages. I grabbed the URL's of the pictures and will re-post here. Click on the images and you see the one "Supersize" picture

I have several pictures I took as well. Again, once I have time to figure out how to shrink the pics down in size, I will post them.

I can't wait for mine. Finally a classy looking Stiletto product. Nothing against Monster Tires…but they belong on a Monster Truck not your belt.

Well to each his own, but I don't like this one nearly as well as I do the Leather Flip up case! This thing looks really bulky by comparsion, but pictures don't always prove to be reality. It just doesn't look to me like it provides as much protection. The Leather Flip case rather flipped open or closed provides GREAT protection for the unit.

Like you said, to each his own. To me the flip case looks ultra cheap and "pleathery." The stitching looks cheap, it looks like is has zero padding and protection. Looks like something you's get as a free give-away at the ol' ballpark. Plus that giant "Made in China" tag is a bit much.

While the Executive does appear bulky, it's because it's padded. The leather has a much richer look (not pleather) and the color contrast in the stitching looks classy.

The leather flip up case which protects whole unit including the corners even when the flap is up and the unit is held inside the case with a velcro fastened flap. This one from the pictures appears to offer very little protection to the top portion of the unit especially if it happens to slip out of your hand while the flap is open. It also look like the potential for it to just come out of the case all together is real high too from the top. Perhaps I am missing something from the pictures that actually hold it in the case. Like I said pictures don't always do these things justice.

A case like this is about protection above anything else in my opinion, so I won't nitpick with you about looks. No case can promise absolute protection, but this one appears to offer a lot less protection than the leather flip up case. I'll hold total judgement until I see some additional photos.

You're right. It probably doesn't protect it as much as the other case. The top sides are somewhat exposed. But the Stiletto does fit snug in the case, to the point that you have to be careful putting it in and taking it out because the wheel can get caught. I don't think the case is as bulky as I thought it would be.

Hey Jeff -
Thanks for the update. How does it fit with the slim battery?
I almost never use the fat one and am curious if it's still snug enough in the case with the slim battery to keep it from slipping around.

I would like to see an angle that shows the top better if anybody can arrange that.

All 4 of the Supersize shots load up as the same view.
