Default comparing signal

Hello,I have a Sirius headunit in my car and the reception is excellent for the most part. I was just wondering how the antennae for the head unit compares to the one on the stilleto. Are they the same strength? Im still not decided on gettin a stilleto for my girl, the live signal strength is the deciding factor. From what I've read the signal in my area is generally good and I'm leaning towards gettin her one. But if she can't listen to live sirius then it will be a 350$ paperweight ! Thanx guys

For Live reception it really depends where you are and whether you have a repeater nearby.

Without a nearby repteater even holding the radio still outside, sometimes I get spotty reception with the built in antenna. With the headphone antenna's I can usually get ok receiption except when walking under trees and having other thinkgs like buildings get in the way.

In the car and at home, I either use the Dot Micro car kit antenna or the home antenna and it has perfect reception with those.

Inside my house or at work with WiFi I usually get perfect reception.

There are two repeaters about an hour south of me in Pittsburgh, there are others nearby, but those are the closest...I live in a valley surronded by trees and mountains. I have sirius in the house already so this gonna be a "portable" radio that she can take when she's not in the house or car. I like the fact she can record live content for when there is no signal but I can't justify the pricetag if she can only listen to recorded stuff most of the time. I am quite creative and I'm sure I can rig up some kind of more comfortable antennae headphone till someone releases a better one. If the Stiletto catches on then maybe they'll put more money into the network and more thought into the accessories, but we can only hope. Thanx for your reply!
