Yeah, I read that they check your resume before purchasing it to make sure that your really are an executive. I know an I.T. guy that they had denied. They told him he had to order the nylon case instead.

True story.

I usually only use my slim battery. Most of the time the chubby is in the dock. How easy is it to take the radio in and out of the case? I'll pick up a belt clip of some sort for actually wearing the Stiletto, but for day to day transport to and from work I want something that will offer fair protection and is VERY easy to use. I can't really see farting around with the case for a frequent transport.

I want it to be as easy to use as a glasses case.

Is the exec case going to cover me?

I would say its fairly easy to get in and out of the case. You only have to be a little careful, because the wheel can get caught while taking it out. Once I got the hang of it, its pretty simple.

Has anyone received the speck sport case? Wondering how it compares to the Directed version. I have the latter and am considering replacing it with the Speck one.

The executive case is very nice, and has god protection
The leather is pretty decent quality as well
And if you get this you dont need a belt clip, has a nice one already build into the case and farily easy to take in and out

Only things I dont like with it is

1- When you have the big battery in the stilletto the case wont lock, it will close but not lock

2- You have to take the Stilletto out of the case to charge it in the home dock, it wont fit in the home dock with the case on it.

Yeah, I knew it came with a belt clip, but I also want a more rugged case for yard work or whatever.

Thanks for the info! When I find one I think I'll place an order. I have a feeling that my local retailers aren't going to get it in stock any time soon.

IMO, the quality of the leather and finish are excellent but the "protection" is minimal.

My case locks tight with the larger battery.

I've used my Stiletto in the Toughskin case for a week now, in areas where there wasn't a strong terrestrial signal, and it doesn't seem to affect the satellite signal strength at all.

It does make the radio larger, but at the same time it's easier to hold on to.

Default Three cases rated

I am a Stiletto case junkie, I guess. I now have three of them.

The original leather case with the flap on the front:
http://www.tss-radio.com/stiletto-le...c1-p-4060.html
Quality: B (so-so leather, on mine the embossed Sirius logo was crooked)
Protection: A
Both Batteries: A (i.e., you can use slim or regular equally well)
Belt Clip: C (sticks out too far, with a big pin even when the clip is removed)
Putting On and Taking Off: A (no problem at all)

Then there's the Tough Skin:
http://www.tss-radio.com/speck-stile...se-p-4034.html
Quality: B (very good feel for rubbery plastic, but leather it's not)
Protection: A
Both Batteries: B (best with regular battery; it's no slimmer with the slim battery)
Belt Clip: B (sticks out, but can be completely removed)
Putting On and Taking Off: D (screen protector is separate and the rubber is very tight)

I just got, and am currently happiest with the Executive case. This is the case I wanted in the first place, but it just became available:
http://www.tss-radio.com/speck-execu...se-p-4066.html
Quality: A (very nice leather; if it's fake, it's a good fake)
Protection: B (the top is relatively unprotected, but the radio won't fall out, despite appearances)
Both Batteries: C (the regular battery would be a very, very tight squeeze and over time I suspect would ruin the elastic)
Belt Clip: A (very slim)
Puttting On and Taking Off: B (the elastic is a bit tight, even with the slim battery)
Other: The volume control is covered by leather, but still usable. There's a pointless pocket on the front flap: too small for a business card.

I use the directed electronics case with the screen protector but no flap cover... not pretty but works well for the gym.

I have both the Speck rubber case and the Directed leather case. I have to say reception with the rugged case is far inferior. I walked around with the Stiletto in the rubber case in my jacket pocket and the reception was in an out, very choppy. The next day and at the same time, I did the same walk with the Stiletto in the Directed leather case in the same jacket pocket, and reception was flawless.

While having the Stiletto in the rugged case and in my hand, the reception was good. But I like to keep the Stiletto in my pockets not in my hands. So the rugged case does give excellent protection but the trade off is in reception quality. I thought I put my feedback out here.

Thank you SS, finally someone that has basically done some side by side comparing. Fantastic, this is great information and I think folks really need to know this in making a decision on which case to go with. Good Job!
