Arm band should have an flap on top, so you can turn it upside down to read the screen by lifting your arm up...

Yesterday, I received the Speck active sport case ( running case) thanks to TSS. It looks nice, it is made of a light reflecting material, has nice pocket on the inside and it holds the Stiletto VERY well. The downside to it is that the power and volume buttons on the side are a little hard to access.

To answer the question on whether or not is ok to use upside down since it doesn't have a flap that covers the top I performed an unscientific test. I held it upside down over my best pillow on my bed, and I shook the hell out of it. The Stiletto did not move at all, not one bit. Nevertheless, I personally wouldn't use it upside down until I fashion a velcro strip that would help keep it in place for extra peace of mind.

Have you gone running with it yet? I am curious whether its very floppy. Looks like it would be less floppy than the Portable Use Kit

I won't until next week, after the Xmas pig out is over but I'll be sure to report back once I do. One concern I have is that the breathable mesh band that goes around your arm is so white that I have no doubts it will get really dirty, after regular use.

How is the Speck active sport case working out for you so far? How long is the strap/band? I'm thinking of getting one, but I have big arms and want to make sure it will fit before I go out and buy it.

I just flip up the back and put in the dock. So far no signs of rubber fatigue or anything weird like that. Also, I don't notice any heat problems while charging in the case. I suspect this isn't a problem because the entire battery is exposed and air can still vent out the top.

IMO, this is the best case option I've seen so far. I'm not a fan of taking the device in-and-out of the case all the time. Not to mention the Speck Rugged case is very true to it's name. Rugged...

Hey Dave, thanks for the pics. I'll be cutting mine when I get home today. I love the case, very good protection.

I was thinking about the heat issue and why I don't have the problem. I think I don't have the problem for 2 reasons:

1) Cooler in Michigan
2) I don't use the Stiletto too much outside of the dock. This means there is a much reduced charging time and, I would guess, less heat build up.

I would take other peoples warnings and watch how how your device gets. This is especially true if you live in the south.

I'll probably end up getting a different case for the spring/summer months and then using the Speck rugged case for fall/winter just to err on the side of caution.

I got the Speck rubber case last week. I need a case for running and I like to clip stuff onto my shorts. For me it has 3 problems:

1. The Stiletto loads from the bottom. So although there's a flap there trying to keep the unit from falling out, with the wrong knocks I can see that being knocked aside and gravity taking over. What bright spark thought it was a good idea to load anything used with a belt clip from the bottom?! The design is fundamentally flawed for runners. The load needs to come from the top.

2. It is fiddly to get the Stiletto in. The screen protector needs to be built into the unit and not a separate piece of hard plastic requiring positioning over the Stiletto screen before insertion. And if you use the smaller battery (which runner wouldn't?) you need to work the Stiletto in with another separate piece of rubber masquerading as the larger battery. What a kafuffle!

3. It gets hot in there.

All in all, I can live with #2 and #3. But #1 is bad. I'll look for another case.

I'm sorry for taking so long on the reply, I completely forgot about it. I've used it for running a few times already and the Speck Sport Case performs perfectly. The Stiletto doesn't flap around and stays very secured. As for the length of the strap I can say is pretty long. Unless you have some 18 inch arms of pure muscle I think it will fit.

The downside: The breathable mesh is white and after a few uses it is starting to get dirty and i don't know if it will resist a cycle in the washer.

They look like pro studio shots done with soft box diffusers.

Do you have to pay extra for that or do you have to pray extra for that?

I just picked up a Speck case for the S50 on eBay for $5 bucks and the jogging one for my wife for 10. One good thing about having nearly-obsolete equipment..

Notice the stiletto with the Sport Band, The display is on, but the lights around the dial are not on. The display is probably the color sticker or a fake image put on it.

It looks to me like they Photoshopped the screen shot in from one of the stock Stiletto images. I know U2 is everywhere, but what are the odds that Beautiful Day is playing EVERY time that someone takes a picture of a Stiletto.

I think we should start a thread of "Beautiful Day Stiletto Pictures" just to see how many times we can capture it.
