Default Circuit City Extended Warranty..

I was a bit disappointed in the warranty. A digital camera I bought 4 months ago had the LCD screen go bad. I went to Cicuit City expecting a swap out. No Way. I had to call the warranty company, go through registering, explaining, etc.. Now they will mail me a box to ship the camera back in. Then about 2 weeks to get it back. I always thought these warranties got you an immediate swap out. I guess it will be the same thing if I have to bring back my Stiletto. Does Best Buys warranty work the same way?

You didn't get the extended warranty. They are making you redeem the manufacturer warranty. If you have an extended warranty, they swap it out or they give you the money back. If you do have the extended warranty, and they are not honoring to swap it out or give you money back, talk to the manager or call the circuit city support.

I thought that even with the extended warranty, you still use your origional warranty if it covers the problem. that is why it is EXTENDED, meaning that it will add on to the one you have, not a replacement warranty... but I could be wrong.

The plans you buy in Circuit City or Best Buy aren't extended warranty plans. They're limited insurance plans from each company.

I've never used Circuit City's plan, but I know Best Buy will take care of the shipping, etc. while the unit it still under the manufacturer's warranty.

Also, make sure you got a Replacement Plan instead of a Service Plan. They both have their trade-offs.
The Best Buy replacement Plans let you replace a defective unit right away, but then are then they are considered fulfilled.
Service Plans require the product to be repaired 3 times and in need of a 4th repair to be repaired, but they last for the entire time stated.

Either of them are voided when your screen's cracked, or it's been immersed in a liquid, or burned in a fire, etc.
