Default Just bought a Stiletto. Now how do I install it with my Alpine touchscreen headunit?

Right now I have Sirius in my Escalade. The sirius antenna goes to a "Sirius Connect Satellite Radio Tuner" which is hooked to my alpine touchscreen headunnit. Is there any way to run the Sirius radio through both my alpine and my new Stiletto?

If not, do I no longer need the Sirius Connect tuner? Do I just unhook the already installed antenna from the tuner and plug it into the Stiletto car kit base?

The only way to use the Stiletto is to use an FM modulator or AUX jack.

Either way you will not be able to use the Alpine to control it.
You will have to use the Stiletto's controlls and display.
The Sirius connect is a much nicer cleaner way to go.

am I missing something here? Won't you also need two sub's? (dumb question, I know) I installed the fm modulator with a chrysler adapter kit - f-ing awesome, especially since the FM transmitter is weaker than old milwaukee lite. Why would you install the stiletto if you already have sirius (in the car)?

I don't want to use the Alpine to control the Stiletto. I want to use the Alpine to control Sirius and also use the Stiletto to control sirius. I bought the Stiletto for the pause/rewind/record/preset/browse that the Alpine doesn't have.

Is the connect just a tuner that I needed because my Alpine didn't have one? With the stiletto does it include an equal built in tuner so that I no longer need the connect?

It looks like I would need to subscriptions to run the alpine & stiletto and then they wouldn't be synched. It would be nice to synch both the alpine and stiletto to control sirius from one sirius account.

won't work - you need an account for each SID. But if you do not need the alpine to have sirius as well, I say activate the stiletto and install the FM direct adapter. Why pay for two sub's if you do not need to, right? But since you are rolling in an Escalade I would expect you to install a Stiletto at seat position - the back seaters need sirius love to!

I looked at the back of my Alpine headunit and there is no "AUX" input. In fact there are no normal inputs. There is a black plug and a connector plug that has about 12 wires in it. How the heck do I connect my stiletto to my headunit with no normal AUX input plug? Anyone have alpine experience?

If you aren't using the external CD connector, you can buy the adapter kit that will turn this connector into an aux-input. This is also where you'd plug in the SIRIUS connect tuner if you decided to go that route. But you'll have to do either or, you can't do both.

It is true that the Sirius Connect setup provides a cleaner install, but with the 16 character text limitation that would drive me nuts. Besides the SIRIUS Connect tuners do not provide the best reception. I just recently swapped from a JVC Sirius Connect tuner in my truck and company van to using a single subcription Stiletto. I went from 3 subs down to 1 sub and the SQ is good and the reception is improved 10 fold. I was able to get car docks and find really good installation locations in both vehicles. So, I am a happy camper.

So where is my original Sirius ID tagged to? It's not assigned to the Alpine headunit is it? Is it assigned to the Sirius Connect unit?

I can't for the life of me figure out how to install this Stiletto with my setup. The Stiletto requires a 1/8 radio plug for AUX connections. But the only AUX my headunit has is RCA. Do they make an RCA to 1/8 cable? I'm confused.

Yes the ESN is assigned to the Sirius Connect Tuner... it is totally indepenent of the Alpine head unit.

Yes the make an RCA to 1/8 cable.. in fact most PNP come with them, but you can buy them from Radio Shack if not.
