Default Home Dock recording lockup

I got the home kit yesterday. I plugged it in, got decent signal just sitting 3 feet from a window. I scheduled 3 recordings early this morning for 2am, 3am and 6am. When I came downstairs to check it when I got up, the Stiletto would not turn on. I had to take the battery out and put it back in to get it to come back on. It recorded the 2am and 3am perfectly but nothing for 6am. Anyone else have issues like this before? Might just be a fluke. I set it to do the same recordings every day so I will see tomorrow morning if it does the same thing.

Some notes on the home dock. Sitting the dock directly next to my receiver I did get a signal but if you turn up the volume on the receiver, its still a bit staticky. I had to use the RCA cables to get a clean signal into the receiver. This seems to be the standard now with these new FCC regulations I guess.

When browsing the channels, I found it odd there is no channel up/down sort of button on the remote. I had to hit the back button and then arrow up and down. I need to read the book, maybe I just missed what keys you need to use for that. The unit seemed sluggish as I was browsing. If I held down the up or down arrow it would freak out and go up or down in the channel list very fast. It was a little sensitive though and when I thought I barely touched it, it would still flip out on me. If I just pressed it once up or down it seemed to be ok but still there was some hesitation before the stiletto would react.

I will play more with the signal tonight. I got great sound with only the 33% satellite signal and the window I put it in faces a house and a east sky. I will try it in the back of the house pointing south and see if it's any stronger. Overall, I think it will work fine for my house and once I am on a station I am not likely to change channels. The stiletto screen is small so it's hard to tell from a distance what channel you are on or what you're seeing on the screen. Not really a problem just more of an observance.

The channel up/down is something that isn't on the regular stiletto. I found that odd too, at first, but now I hate dealing with my sporster in the car- the Stiletto is so much easier to navigate!

ruinah, try to return your home dock for a new one. I thought you were getting a vehicle dock?

if the same thing happens tonight I will return it and exchange it for a new home dock. I did indeed order the car dock but this thing is nice and portable so I want to be able to use it in both places. I don't get very good signal in the house wit the unit by itself and even with the antenna headphones I get next to nothing so the option is the home it for me.

just a follow up, the Stiletto did not lock up as it did the first night. It recorded both 2am and 3am shows and then did the Howard 100 at 6am. I think that issue should be resolved. I left the unit "on" when I went to bed last night on a channel, maybe that's the ticket. I think tonight I will put it to sleep and see what happens tomorrow morning.
