Yes the home and car dock remotes work with with the boombox. Though it doesn't allow you to control the aux/sat or bass boost. My understanding is that TSS has said they will probably begin breaking kits and selling individual pieces, so you may check with them.

I am dying to get one of these boomboxes.... will work on our roofdeck perfectly! And if the sound is as good as you are saying, it will be a plus! Great review too! I wonder when BB will get them.... I hate crutchfield

Hey, I see you finally made it on the forum Glad that was finally worked out for you. Yes, I am most pleased with the sound. I took it to work today, not something that I will ordinarily do. But everyone at the office was amazed at how great the sound was and how loud it would get. They were saying you need to bring this to our company Christmas Party. I said, "that is the plan"

Anyway... Welcome to SBS lak.. I hope you are a long time poster and remain excited by the service.

Let's not start another boombox thread. I am merging this comment with the the Boombox review.

I guess it would all depend on where you are trying to use it. But for localized outdoor use and indoor use in a decent size area I think it certainly gets loud enough. What would one expect from a $129.99 boombox, which only offers 30 watt peak when on AC power. I tested mine yesterday because I was planning to use it for some Christmas Parties mainly for background music and it appears it will do the job nicely. We had it cranked pretty good at a bonfire Saturday Night and the results was very good, but it was just a group of about 12 of us and none of us were being real noisy, we were just kicking back watching the fire, talking and listening to some tunes.

By the way, 3 hours straight on battery thus far at high volume and there was no signs of it dropping off. So I am already pleased with the battery life. I did have the display turned all the way down to 5% and the bass boost off. You just don't need it at higher volumes. Just thought I'd throw that out there for those of you wondering about battery life. The volume at which you listen of course does indeed impact battery life.

i just got the boombox from crutchfield. are you getting a squeeling noise in the back ground. i am, and it sucks. you can here it more on talk stations or when the volume is turned down. what is that noise? its almost like a clicking / squeeling...i cant explain it. its low, but like i said i can here it when the sound is down or during quite moments during talk radio. one thing i do like is that using the supplied antenna i get AWESOME reception in my house.

update on the noise. i think it gets louder when the backlight is on. when the display dims, the noise gets alot softer, but still annoying. let me know if anyone else is getting this noise. if this is not normal i will be getting a replacement.

I heard some hissing one time when I first got the boombox and I realized that I didn't have the tuner pushed all the way down on the dock. I removed it and then docked it again. I've never heard the hissing again. Certainly no squeeling. It sounds like your AC power is picking up some interference from something in your home.

The place that I noticed the hissing was when I was changing channels, because it gets quiet when switching channels. I have to admit this concerned me. But redocking it solved the issue.

i get the noise even on battery power. if you can double check to make sure you still dont have the noise, before i call crutchfield. i dont want to send it back if i dont have to. i just undocked it and docked it again and the noise is sill there. its louder when i listen through wifi.

Probably hearing compression artifacts that wern't prevelent with headphones.

My question is, what's up with the pics? The 2nd one looks real THIN compared to the other 2. What am I seeing wrong? Maybe some leftover acid from last night???

I mean, I DO have "dammed eyes"

Yep it is the acid, you may want to lay off of it for a day or two. LOL

That second one is a back shot!

My Local CC has one of these in stock and if I wasn't doing Christmas shopping for others this week, I would have bought it. It looks sweet. They let me open the box and take it out to get a better look. It would work perfect in my office via Wi-Fi and then great for outdoors. Hopefully, they'll still be around in the spring so I can get one when it isn't 15 degrees and snowing.

Western PA weather sucks.

Vargas what did you think about the size of it? I know my pictures do make it look really, really big. So what is your take now that you've seen one?
