DAB
1. Is the ac a straight 110v hook up or is there a ac/dc converter or wall wart?

2. Can you record with stiletto battery only? That is, if your BBX is unplugged and the batteries in BBX are dead can the stiletto still use its own battery to power external antenna and record like the soloist can ?

Thanks much!

Just got my boombox. Have to agree with DAB sound is really good. Much better than Sportster boombox. The power cord has an inline box to convert 110v ac to 12v dc. It's just like the one on the Sportster bb. I hope this thing gets more than 5 hours on a set of batteries. My Sportster got more like 10 or 12 on Alkalines. I hoped since the Stiletto was 5v instead of 12v battery life might be better not worse. No odd noises so far. Love it so far.

Can the Stiletto power the antenna if the Soloist has no power? Something doesn't sound right there.

thanks, no1hedberg.

I got a boom box. It sounds great! unless you try to it listen quietly, the high pitch squeal in sat mode is making me think i might take it back.....

even if the power is unplugged from the soloist, the s100 can be on and get satellite.(without sound)
Why would I want this? Well the power goes out quite a bit here and i thought it'd be cool if i could still record my shows without the need for power. I was hoping the boom box might let me do this even after the batteries are dead.
sorry for the confusing question.

Xan sorry I have been rather busy the last several days.... It looks like someone else answered your question.

By the way the antenna has no power if you have no power to the Boombox as I am sure you found out, so the answer is NO.

I was a bit turned off by the squealing in the boombox, but I plugged it into a power device that I got for my laptop and I am not sure what that does, but now I get no squealing at all. It totally cleaned it up. So it is picking up some sort of line noise or something that this device apparently removes. Overall I am darn happy with the boombox. I have used it on the go several times. It is really great for outdoor use. I plan to get a lot of use out of it over the summer. I had given strong thought to sending mine back, but ended up keeping it. The convenience and SQ is just too good to pass on it.

Thanks DAB.
I tried a cheappo surge protector but it didn't seem to help. I'll try a better one.
Also haven't gotten to try out running from batteries yet so i'll keep playing.....

I really want to keep this !

Hi Larry, glad you got yourself a boombox. Like you I really enjoy mine a great deal. I have used it a lot outside and everyone that hears it is amazed at how good it sounds. This is the best purchase I've made for my Stiletto as far as I am concerned. For me and the fact that I am an outdoors person getting the boombox is a must have. Then again you are limited to just using it outdoors, it can be used anywhere rather you have AC power or need to use it on battery power. I am not up to 6 full hours on the same set of batteries. I am more than please with the battery life as well.

I've been using it both inside and out, on satellite and WiFi, battery and AC. All configs working fine including my Home Dock's remote working in WiFi mode, which it does not do in my Home Dock. The sound is really great, bass boost and all. I consider this thing a "must have" for all Stiletto users.
I haven't had it on battery for more than 2 hours so far so time will tell about battery life but I couldn't be happier and my only regret is not buying it sooner.

Larry that is one regret I do not have as I bought mine the first day they were made available. LOL In fact I think it was like the first week in December. I remember getting it at that time mainly to use for Christmas Parties, which I did indeed use it for.
