Default Soloist Universal Dock?

Does anybody have one? I was thinking of getting one for work to dock my Stilleto in, as oppossed to lugging a boom box around. I just ditched my Streamer Boombox, it was a pain in the a taking it back and forth to work.

Many people have, just do a search in the Stiletto forum and you'll find many posts about it.

I use a Soloist in my home office instead of gettnig a home dock.

I'm happy with the sound of the Soloist, and once I got it programmed to power on and off each day at the same time as the programmed recording in the S100, I've been happy with my ability to record Sten each morning. I like the small size of the Soloist. I think it looks cool too.

Some things that aren't so great are the included remote. It's thin and uses membrane type buttons that don't feel as good as the other remotes. In fact I leave my car kit remote in my office, and use it for most of the controls when listening. The display on the Soloist is small and dim and hard to read even when you adjust the contrast. It bugs me that since the S100 thinks the Soloist is a mobile dock, it will auto shutdown after 4 hours if you don't operate a control. I leave my radio on all day long if I'm working at home that day, and will come back in to a silent room at times.

I'd give the Soloist 3.5 stars out of 5.

Ed

If you're not concerned about recording too much the Soloist is a nice option. It has a small footprint and the sound quality at lower to average listening levels is pretty good.

I returned mine after a couple of weeks because the recording setup was ridiculous. Other minor criticisms...the buttons are microscopic and do not provide good feedback (i.e. did I really push the button or not.) The contrast for the clock readout is dreadful.

I agree with edweird...3 1/2 stars out of five sounds about right.

I use my Stiletto in my Soloist Universal Dock at work and don't have much problems. The only thing I don't is the remote control, I push the buttons and things don't change on my stiletto from time to time. But the sound system does sound fantastic. Plus if you have an I-Pod it will play it also. Other great feature is the Soloist will work for some other Sirius devices. So I give it a 4 out of 5 star!

I have been very, very pleased with my Soloist. I use it for mainly what it was designed to do, provide sleep mode and alarm clock functions on my night stand. It has never failed me. I have from time to time used it for single recording. I honestly don't think the Stiletto was designed for recording, but it will work, it just takes more effort than on a home dock.

The sound I think is very good and I have used it at low and higher volumes. The SIRIUS Boombox will get much, much louder though and provides better sound (bass/highs). But I am very pleased with the Soloist in terms of the sound it offers for the small footprint it uses.

My gripes would be the poor LCD display, which generally once you will get it adjusted to the right contrast for where you use it and its okay. But the biggest is the crappy remote control.

So I give it 4 stars out of 5.

Thanks for the info, it's about what I expected. I just ordered it and the home kitt from TSS. It was still cheaper with the exchange, shipping and taxes then ordering it from Canada. It's a crazy world we live in.
