I think you've got something blocking your reception... I know you say you have a clear sky, but sometimes there are things in the area that will cause interference. What are you surroundings like.

I've used multiple home kits and I've always gotten good results with them. I don't think its the antenna!

Default Stiletto Home Antenna Question

Does the Stiletto home dock use the standard Sirius antenna/antenna connector? I just ordered a Stiletto 100 and home dock and want to use my existing PNP1 antenna.

TIA....JL

If it is a single plug antenna then you'll be ok.

Yes, I plugged in my SportsterI home antenna into it to confirm my new Home antenna is OK.

However, with the Stiletto I get 1 bar almost always [maybe a flash of 2 bars] with the Home Kit/antenna on windowsill pointing East to SE [NW USA] or with the headphones [clear view outside]. I am getting some dropouts on recordings. No repeaters here... My Sportster gets 2-3 bars with the home antenna in the living room.... What's weird is outside reception is MUCH better than my old XM Pioneer Airware WITH repeaters.

Have any of you tried with the antenna in it's "closed" clamshell position? So it is just facing straight up? I went from on mediocre bar, to a full blast 3 bars from inside the house NOT in a window sill. Granted national location has alot to do with it, but give it a shot. And no it is not full repeater signal, I am just out of reach of it.

I have tried it with no luck...I think I might try a higher location this weekend.

I have mine on a fence post 2 feet from my house pointing straight up. I never have any drop outs. 2 to 3 bars consistently.

Just make sure you have a clear view.

How has it held up in different incliment weather? I was a bout to mount outside of house but ended up doing fine inside. Though I am sure its just a matter of time before wifey has a change of heart and wants it off of the tv and out of sight. Curious of its durablity w/o getting into the nice real outdoor antenna.

Default Fixed!!

I just fixed my signal issues by repositioning my antenna on top of my gate using a clamp. Now I'm getting a steady two bars with an occasional 3rd bar that shows up from time to time. Thanks for your help guys.

I have had it outside for over a year now. It's been through snow and a hot summer and it's still going strong.

Default Defective Home Dock Antenna??

I've had the Stilletto for about a month and I live in Manhattan.

Just got the home dock however I think it may be defective.

I get 3 bars indoors anywhere in my apartment with the stilletto internal antenna (without the antenna headphones) due to a strong repeater signal.

I am only using the homedock for the ease of use and battery charging functions however it seems to require you attach an antenna. After attaching the home kit antenna the stilletto gets 1 bar or less in my apartment (home kit antenna signal weaker than internal stilletto signal).

Anyone ever hear of this? Crutchfield seems to think it probably isn't defective since the antenna works however it doesn't seem to be processing terrestrial signals.

The antenna I used with my S50 when I first got it, and is now hooked to my Soloist, has been outside a year. I live 2 blocks from the beach, so it's seen salt air, heavy rain, and a hot summer here in FL, and still works great.

I had an X-Act boombox and got stellar reception at home, can I expect similar good reception from the Stiletto Home Doc?

I'm actually using the entire home kit in my Firebird Formula, and have the home antenna mounted under the windshield cowl which is plastic (see thread below). Perfect reception (2-3 bars most of the time), so your antenna could be defective.

I know it sounds silly to use a home kit in a car, but you'll see why I'm using one after you check my thread.
