Mark, I ordered mine, but it was out of stock, so soon as it arrives, I'll be installing mine. Keep us posted on your progress, maybe you can take some pictures.

MM has me ordering mounts and home distributions kits... I just can't keep up with him. LOL

For sure, I'll try to post some pictures of the installation. The Stiletto is a great device and I'm pretty sure most people in this forum don't mind getting all sorts of accessories for it. I was hesitant about buying it after reading some negative comments but it works really well for me so far.

What an excellent forum. I would have never found out how useful this ProClip is if I didn't stumble onto this site!

Default Broke the ProClip!

Hi Guys,

I received the ProClip a few days after ordering it. However, it broke when I was installing it. Per the instructions, I clipped the bottom part into the dash first but the clip was too short to reach to the top part of the dash. So, I tugged at top part a bit trying to make it fit. When that didn't work, I tried sliding the clip horizontally to a better position. That's when the bottom part of the clip sheared right off. I had just blown $50USD! (shipping included).

I guess I'll just stick with the vent mount for now - I'm not willing to spend another $50 as I'm not sure that I'll get better results the next time - I guess I'm a bit of a clutz!

Mark, I would give them a call and tell them what happened. You paid $50 for it so it should work. They should send you a replacement IMO.

Let us know what happens. I don't want to see you blow that money and not enjoy the mount.

Mark, I'm in agreement too. Call them. I just ordered another proclip today for my wifes car. If they don't give you another one tell them I'm returning mine!

No really, Maybe your's was defective. It should not break like that. You may need to return your broken one to let them investigate the problem with it.

let us know what they say!

Mine is still on backorder, but I did get email today telling me it should be in stock on the 27th. I agree with these guys sounds like you had a defective one. I'd certainly give them a call, all they can do is say no.

Default Replacement clip is coming!

Guys,

I called ProClip Canada this morning and they said that there's a 90 day warranty on it. ProClip Canada told me to call the ProClip USA number because I ordered the mount online.

On the phone, the USA support person told me that he'd be sending a new mount to me with the promise that I would return the broken one. Of course I said "yes". He later emailed me and said that since they don't have a return shipping label for Canada, I could just email him a picture of the broken clip. I didn't get grilled by anyone. What a great company.

And thanks to all for your advice to call them!

Default ProClip center mount on 2006 Volvo S60

Hi Guys,

I got the replacement ProClip mount was delivered yesterday. I have to say it was a pleasure dealing with ProClip's support. All it took was a phone call and email of the broken mount to them and I got my replacement.

For some reason, the replacement mount seemed to fit a bit better - the surface texture looked a bit different than the first one I received but the part number was the same. I installed it without any problems.

Since I've never mounted anything in any of the cars I had before, all I did was shove the wiring in between the cracks of the dash and trim using a small screw driver. I hid the excess wiring inside some panels. The car also had an extra 12volt outlet in the back of the center console (for rear passenger use), so I used that outlet leaving the front outlet free for other uses. I chose the center mount and not the mount closer to the driver side because it would have blocked the cup holder.

I didn't bother mounting the antenna on the roof of the car. I was lucky in that I have a center speaker in the dash and the magnetic antenna sticks to the speaker grill pretty well. I get 2 to 3 bars driving around the greater Vancouver area. Since I'm new to this, I'm not sure if I was picking up the satellite signal or repeater signal while in the car. However, I do notice that the signal drops out when there are large trees and when I'm under a tunnel or bridge. So, I assumed the satellite signal is being used?

Anyway, here are the pictures. I took then inside my garage at night so they aren't the best quality! Also, had to do some tweaking to get them down the the size limit imposed by the forum.

I drove the car around town today and the ProClip definitely beats the vent mount - it's very solid!

Mark

Mark,

Looks very nice and professional! Great job on hiding the wires. You don't see them at all! I just bought another pro-clip for my wifes car to install my old S50.

I'm glad they replaced the broken one without any hastle. Good to know they stand behind their product.

Thanks me_rubin, I was happy to find out that most of the car's dash material made of soft material.

Very nice indeed! I'll be glad when mine arrives. I am using the adhesive mount now, but I am concerned about where it's located. My only concern is glare. With the adhesive mount I can move it around to take any possible glare off the screen, with this you can't do that. I did try the vent mount, but docking and undocking was a pain the butt because it moved so much.
