Default Volume after FM Direct

My Volume seems to be a lot lower with the fm direct installed and I am losing quality in the base. Is this normal? When it is hooked up I have to turn it off to get am stations. When it is on I can scroll through all of my fm's except for the station that stiletto is on. Is there a chance that I hooked it up to the am antenna?????? Btw I have a 2004 4runner sr5

I think it might be the PM antenna.
