Be sure you don't want to record more than 10 hours either. Also, check for repeaters in your area- the Stilettos are amazing if you're near one.

I am same boat as you. I have the 10 and overall am quite pleased. Wifi would be nice at some times, but for the most part I don't miss it. Just too bad people here and Sirius themselves treat it like the unloved stepchild as if it doesn't exist.

I would have gone with the 10 if not for the limited recording. 10 hours just isn't enough.

Default stiletto 10

12 hours later and i think i still like it (im still in heavy debate mode because i really like my old radio and the stiletto was sort of an impulse buy...) i was using a starmate replay before and i love that radio. all i wanted was a portable version of that. stiletto 10 pretty much delivers for what i want. i already have an ipod so im not worried about storing mp3's, and i cant really see a situation where i will have access to an open 802.11b network to take advantage of wifi.... it looks like theres something similar to tivo built in there so im definitely going to try to use that. there is a $70 rebate which basically makes the car kit free.... im not sure if im gonna go for that just yet, id like to find a way to listen in my car without installing a new dock (also not a fan of rebates).

Whenever I drive my car that doesn't have Sirius I still use my stiletto- with headphones. Luckily, I only drive that car maybe once every few months.

ok ive been using the SL10 for about a week. heres my thoughts (if you guys know any solutions PLEASE let me know):

1. my old starmate doubled as my clock. i dont see a way to make the SL10 display time. this is a major bummer

2. i bought the car dock (free after rebate so wtf right?). i was happy to see that it comes with more than one option for mounting. neither one worked very well for my particular car but i went with the air vent mount.

3. the glossy screen has me very paranoid because fingerprints are VERY noticeable

4. no ability to just flip up and down through channels? (i dont mean scrolling through menus, i mean if im listening to howard100 and i want to flip over to 101, i cant just press "up" like on every other sirius radio.)

5. Anybody have ways to get better reception when in portable mode (no dock). i want to be able to listen while i walk in the evening, and the way i see it i have 2 options: 1 is to hold the SL10 upright in front of me at all times to get good reception, or 2. antenna headphones. those antenna headphones are shite. right now im wearing the antenna headphones around my neck (like bunny ears for an old tv), theres got to be a better way.

Other than those things im pretty happy with it.

When I spin the wheel in satellite mode it takes me to a channel list, including what is currently playing on each channel.

By turning the wheel on the tuner, it will indeed take you to the channels up or down, but only in that particular category. If you wish to move categories, you just push the the wheel left or right.

The remote works the same way, you just hit the up and down to go through the channels in a particular category or you hit the left and right to scroll through categories.

We are hopeful that they will be adding a clock to the display in the next update or two. I am pretty sure that is coming.

In regards to finger prints, I found with the overlays it doesn't seem to fingerprint as bad, but when you have a shiny black surface there is little you can do to prevent finger prints. I keep a cloth eye glass cleaner with me and I just wipe mine down a couple of times a day. This seems to work very well.

Until they come out with a method of allow a separate antenna to be connected or perhaps a better headphone/antenna setup there isn't really much you can do in regards to portable reception.

I agree... not too much love out there for the s10.... when I mentioned to a couple of salespeople that I bought a stiletto I got the nods and smiles.... when I said it was the s10 the smiles disappeared and expressions of pity emerged.... whats up with that?

in Canada it's an extra $150 for the s100... Just couldn't justify the extra cash so I'll make due with the 10 hours.... besides.... 100 hours I'd probably fill up the s100 and never get around to listening to all of it.... get anxious... and record over everything anyway..... Still haven't watched the American Music Awards on my PVR (Bell version of tivo) from 2005.

i really like the stiletto 10. im glad they released the cheaper version because frankly, for $100 im not missing 2gb of storage and unencrypted 802.11b at all...

but they REALLY gotta get a decent set of antenna headphones for this thing. whoever designed the included headphones must be some kind of half sadist/half retard...

Default Stilleto

So how much is the S10 compared to the S100? Are the headphone antennas like the ones for XM?
