Default b router vs G

I have DSL 3mps.I am using a linksys wireless 802.11b router. I am getting dropouts occasionally using the wi fi. Would I be better served going to the 802.11g router or is this just a Linksys problem ? What is the best router ? Thanks in advance.

The best router is subjective.. I like linksys, others have other preferences.
As for B versus G. If you want to use the stiletto with wireless, you have t be using B.. A "G" router will be able to send out a B signal if you set it up right.
You might just want to check on updating the firmware, that may fix the issue.
I would not move to G unless you have equipment that can take advantage of it.

yes. Go by what has the best reputation for WORKING.

Dlink works but needs to be restarted every couple of days. Not the end of the world...just irritating since wireless is now what, 5years old and still kinda blows.

I updated the firmware & seems to be a big improvement. Thanks a bunch. It never entered my mind to update it. I've had this router for about 3 years so it was due. Thanks again!!!!
