Default My Sirius Studio not recognizing Stiletto

I have yet to have problems connecting my Stiletto via the USB cable to the PC. But Today, everytime I connected the Stiletto to the PC and opened up My Sirius Studio, the Stiletto was never recoginized as being hooked up.

I even reinstalled the My Sirius Studio, but the problem was not fixed.

Anyone have suggestions?

I have the same problem. There were no problems with the install, but My Sirius Studio doesn't recognize the Stiletto 100. WXP sees the Stiletto as an MTP device and I can copy MP3s into the Stiletto's "Media" folder via Windows Explorer, but can't do any Stiletto ZAP updates. Thankfully my Stiletto has the latest version, but I want Studio to work correctly. Any ideas?

TIA....JL

I had this problem, and after resetting the unit as described in the sticky post, it worked again.

I reset the Stiletto and it still isn't recognized by Studio. I now get a message when I connect the Stiletto stating that Studio has "found the unknown device "MTP device" and that the latest version of Studio may be needed (whice I have). I am running WinXP SP2 and Windows Explorer has the Stiletto listed as the MTP device under Audio devices. Has anyone else experienced this conflict? Any assistence is appreciated. BTW, I am using the USB cable and not the home dock.

TIA...JL

I had this problem also. I tried everything you can imagine including uninstalling and reinstalling the Yahoo and MSS software. Nothing worked. Finally, I returned my unit to Best Buy and swapped it for a new one. It's been working fine since then. So in my case, either the unit or the USB cable was defective. Maybe you have the same problem.

Sounds like you need to trade in for a new unit. If you have tried everything else. Recently I set up my antenna at a new spot so I could use the home dock next to my computer screen. Instead of just using the usb cable. I like my new set up much better. It's great.

I find it hard to believe this is problem is a related to a bad Stiletto because every other function works fine. I will try some other things and as a last resort, I will exchange the unit. Thanks for your input.

Regards....JL

Have you tried going back to a previous restore point? Possibly some microsoft update or some software install is playing games with your USB connection.

I am going to install MSS on a different WinXP tomorrow to determine if it is my PC or the Stiletto. Based on the results, I will have enough info to make a decision. I don't expect to use MSS very much, but I need to have the ability to upgrade the Stiletto software.

Regards...JL

Yep, I felt the same way. Everything else worked fine except for the one problem. That's why I waited so long to return it. I was sure it must have been a good unit and something else was the problem.

Then I swapped it with a new unit and everything has been working fine.

I've confirmed my Stiletto is not defective. I installed MSS on another Dell 6000 notebook PC running WinXP HE/SP2 and MSS had no problem connecting to the Stiletto. As soon as I connected the Stiletto to the PC, it found "new hardware - Stiletto" and it successfully installed it. This step never occured on the "problem" PC. I was able to check for Stiletto updates and view the saved songs via MSS. I am relieved I don't have to exchange my unit. The other PC belongs to my nephew so I access to it if I need to do a software update.

Thanks for all your responses.

Regards....JL
