Default Is The Stiletto a PIECE OF JUNK?

I bought a new stiletto 2 weeks ago and today the screen went all to hell. Never dropped, or anything. I turn it on and the screen just has a bunch of vertical lines. Everything else works, but the screen is scrambled. Anyone ever heard of this?

YOUR stiletto may be a piece of junk. When something like this happens, maybe you should think about going back to the store for a replacement.
MY stiletto is Freak'n awsome, and if something went wrong, I would go to a store and get it replaced as soon as possible.
Complaining here does not fix your problem. Most people that complain are looking to raise some feathers. Don't be one of those people, they are stupid.
Now, if you have a valid complaint that does not appear to be a simple manufacturing defect, by all means.. share.

I just dropped mine this morning... first time in a month it's been out of the TSS arm-band. And, it still works.

I was wondering if this problem had been encountered before. Are all Stilettos junk? I very much doubt it. After hearing all the S50 problems and then having problems with mine, the ST seems to carry on these problems.

Not only is the screened F'd. Before, i've had this thing COMPLETELY lock up half dozen times. All this in 2 weeks remember.

And don't get me wrong, the screen isn't physically damaged. Just piss poor manufacturing it seems

Let me explain the series of events leading up to this...

Used ST in portable Wifi mode night before.
Been sitting on my desk ever since in sleep mode.
Fire ST up, screen F'd.

Am I wrong for expecting a $300 piece of hardware to last more than 2 weeks?

Before giving up, try a few things.

Remove the battery and re-power up.

If it still is giving you issues. Try to do the recovery posted in the sticky thread. If it still is not working call support or return it.

But the title you posted didn't indicate that you were asking a question, it seemed to me you were making a statement. But since you have now corrected it, I will also correct your title to reflect what you apparently really meant!

I've not seen anyone else with this problem. If it was a manufacturing problem or poor quality issue, we'd be seeing many more with this issue. Any product can have an occasional dud, that doesn't make them all junk.

I don't think so, but what good does it do to make blatant statements where you have the only unit that has this problem. I had a Motorola Razr that went out within a couple of weeks of having it. Does this mean all Razr's are now junk? Of course NOT!

Mike made some good suggestions, try those and if you've just had it 2 weeks you are still well within your 30 day exchange period. I hope one of these works for you, if not swap it out. The Stiletto is a great unit and you deserve to be happy with it.

Tried powering, battery, etc. Hard to do the recovery process when you can't read the screen. Taking it back now.

YOUR Stiletto may be a "piece of junk" but this fact doesn't make the product line itself junk.

The reality is that every product is bound to have a few problem units. Looking at the relatively few problems reported in this forum I'd say the Stiletto is pretty damn reliable.

Take it back for a new unit...problem solved.
