Angry stolen stiletto

so after all the heartache in waiting for the car dock, etc some asshole broke into my house yesterday and stole my Stiletto. They also took our laptop, ipod, my PDA, and a pair of the wife's earrings. I told the cops this thing might show up in a pawn shop and it's so new that I doubted it would be anything but mine. I know I'll never see it again but it was expensive in the first place and I am torn as to whether or not to go buy a new one. I guess if I got a new one and my old one showed up I could sell one of it. The thieves didn't take the antenna headphones, the home dock, the extra battery, or the charger so it won't be much use afer a couple hours. I cancelled the service last night already. Sirus customer service people were nice to deal with (it was the cancellations dept) and they actually refunded my fees and basically stopped service for 2 months. If it's not recovered within 8 weeks, the radio will cancel totally. If it is, I can re-activate it.

I always lock all doors and windows (the windows come with a safe-seal so it cannot be destroyed unless a really powerful force [more force than a gunshot] comes through) because there is a pawn shop with a lot of gang activity within walking distance on US-1.

Do you have homeowners insurance?

I'll keep an eye out on eBay for a stiletto without a headset. Do you know the ESN. Maybe if you publish it here everyone will be on the lookout for it.

Actually a thread on the forum with stolen ESN's would not be a bad idea? At least it would be a central place to keep them. I've heard Sirius does not want to do that but the fourm could.

Sorry, I know how much that pisses one off to get stuff ripped off.

Perhaps that suggests that upsetconsumer doesn't know what he is talking about.

I ended up ordering another Stiletto from TSS-Radio. It should arrive sometime this week. I figured, I have a spare battery and charger and antenna headphones and such already. If I ever get my stolen one back somehow, I can always just sell the whole package (I even have the original box). My wife was sooo upset because she got this for me for our 1 year anniversary and now we had to spend another $300 on it. TSS-Radio has it for $300 yet Best Buy wanted $350. I'm sort of glad people in the forum here suggested that site. It saved me $50 on what is already a costly holiday for me. The funny thing is, the thieves didn't take any of our christmas presents. Just the small electronics and the couple pieces of jewelry.

I got notified that the car dock has finally shipped from Sirius (3 weeks later). So hopefully by the end of the week I will be enjoying Sirius on my ride to and from work finally. I told the wife that the Stiletto will be attached to me at the hip anytime I leave the house.

Sorry to hear this. Hope you get your hands on this scumbag. About a month ago I came out of the Superstore here and caught a guy removing my aftermarket grill on my truck, he had his two kids with him so I could not really "go to town" and I did not want to call the cops so I made him a deal he paid me 50.00 not to turn him in.

so weird news about this. We came out of the house yesterday and there was a guy looking into the windows of a house 2 doors down from us. He ended up stealing an electronic keyboard and was walking down the street with it. I went after him, called 911 and ultimately he was arrested. He tried pawning the keyboard. So, I am working with the detectives to see if they cant get a search warrant together to go into his house and see if any of my stuff is there. He has a lot of screws loose it seems so he is actually dumb enough to come back to the same street.

Maybe if you would have gone to town on him you could have taught his future felon kids to not steal because clearly he is not going to teach them that.

I would have taken the 50 then gone to town anyway.

Let his kids see that there are consequences for their actions.

You might also keep an eye on craigslist.

i'll keep an eye out there and on ebay as well. It won't have any of the equipment with it (like the CD or antenna headphones, or even the power supply) so as of this point it's probabaly dead for them and in a dumpster. My new one should arrive tomorrow from TSS. Got the car dock yesterday after 3weeks from Sirius. I will say though, they included the FM modulator for free which was nice.
