Post CD Casette Adapter Question?

I read in a post here that one way to cut down on the god awful static from my car kit is the use of a CD Casette Adapter. I picked one up yesterday, does it plug into my Car Kit Adapter somewhere? I haven't opened it yet or even looked at the car kit yet. I wanted to ask before I open it in case it doesn't work.

There's a wire coming out of the cassette adapter with a 1/8 stereo plug on the end. That plug goes into the AUDIO-OUT jack on your Sirius radio or on the dock (depends which model of Sirus radio you have).

That's about it

Not to be a smart ass, but you do have to put the cassette part into the cassette player and play your cassette to listen to the radio.

I only say that because I knew someone who bought one only to find out he did not have a cassette player. They thought it would work with their CD player.

Point taken .. Plus the AUDIO-OUT will be on the car dock for the Stiletto not the unit itself.

Thanks! That's what I was wondering if the audio out was on the car dock or not. The static I get from the FM is unbearable and this way seems like the easiset way around it.

I was almost heart broken this morning when the cassette kept skipping, I haven't used it since I bought the car but after a few run throughs it's working perfectly.

The sound quality is 100X better, no static, and the cord is nice and small so it doesn't look too bad.

Thanks to the forum!!! I appreciate all of the information I have got!!

I just switched from XM to Sirius and I'm a bit bummed by the FM hissing. I kept my cassette adapter from my MiFi2 and it works pretty well. For me, it seems to make some noise for a bit when you first start up the adapter, but then it either smooths out, or I don't notice it at speed. I messed around with the FM extender dohicky but it didn't seem to make the hiss go away in FM mode.

I had an old Streamer, probably one of the originals before I got the Stilleto and it didn't hiss at all. What I missed though was the quality sound with the FM Transmitter and this little tape thing is a big step to getting back to decent sound from my car stereo.
