Default Where does the STILETTO VEHICLE KIT connect?

This is in the FAQ:

To use the STILETTO 100 in your car, it is recommended you purchase the STILETTO VEHICLE KIT (SLV1).

Where do the wires connect on the SLV1? Like the audio output, power supply, and the satelite in? Are they at the back of the unit, or the bottom?

if you look at it head on, they're underneath the unit. Kind of like if your cell phone has the power connector on the bottom.

Ah ok, cool. My current car mount has the wires sticking out of the back of the unit, which means I can't for example place it down flat on the seat next to me, because the wires get all bent.

Maybe this will help a little bit. Called Crutchfield yesterday and they told me it has audio inputs on the bottom antenna/headphone-mini/power-to-ciglighter. hope this helps...good luck!

Neil,

The manual outlines the location of each of the connectors located on the bottom of the dock recessed the width of the largest connector. Here is the picture from the manual.

The issue is not the location but rather the wire connectors themselves. Each one is a 90 degree connector which makes the fit flush on the bottom but point the wires towards the back.

I did not use this picture on my install post because it is not that clear, but it is a shot from the bottom showing my wires connected in.

Here you can see from the side that the wires will end up pointing towards the rear of the dock

Once mounted, the wires in my case are completely hidden.

If you did not see my install back in October, here it is. I used a mount made for my Ford Windstar from ProClip.

Good luck on your install! Post the results for us all to see.

If you have have any more questions just ask. There are a lot of experienced people here on this forum.

Hope this helps.

Mike
