Let's see; I'm a potential Stiletto buyer. Do I give more credibility to a technology site like CNET.com which gives it an 8/10 or a men's fashion magazine that pushes "Monster Mitts" and calls the Stiletto a dud?

I bet you're just pissed because you couldn't operate the Stiletto wearing those ridiculous Monster Mitts.

Always consider the source. For example, you're the same person that started a post claiming Sirius was "anti-semetic" (it's spelled s-e-m-i-t-i-c," BTW.) And you had the nerve to call someone else a dumbass?

Youre just pissed cause you are forced to live in Cleveland, OH. Sorry for you luck.

And really, compared to other devices (non-satellite radio) the Stiletto isn't all that special, yea, it's nice, but nothing that new. And one can't overlook that $350 pricetag! If satellite radio wants to win they're gonna need to do better, and I'm sure they will.
So if they had been in New York City when they did their test or review, you think they would have then said the Stiletto provides great reception? I think the bottom line is that whoever did this didn't do a very thorough job. I've been warning about reception issues since long before the Stiletto was ever released. While there are reception issues while being used a portable, even in my area with no repeaters, I don't find the reception all that bad.

I don't think there is any way whatsoever to combate against someone that doesn't do their home work and buys a sat tuner expecting it is goign to provide live reception while they are sitting on the couch in the their living room. I am sure some of those folks without hesitation will box it up and return it because of their expectations.

You say if Sat Radio wants to win they must do better? How, you can't fix reception issues that is a given. You can't give your product away or at least you shouldn't if you are already burning cash like SIRIUS and XM are. So, how can they do better? The price is tough, but no tougher than someone looking to buy an iPod or other media player. So, I don't think price is such a big issue as many seem to think.

The Stiletto does wifi, allows you to recording live satelitte programming, show me one of these other devices that do that? Heck even the Archos Wifi won't do those things. I think these are indeed the unique factors of the Stiletto.

I am of the opinion that this guy that did this clearly just went with is first impression and for some that may be right, but I don't think most folks give up so easily.

And what a great purchase given the outstanding track record of the S50. I'm sure you'll be back bitching once it starts acting like the S50.

This means absolutely NOTHING!!! Did you decide about the Stiletto for yourself or did you just read what this article said and so made your decision based on it? This will have ZERO impact on those that interested in checking out the Stiletto. ZERO!!!

What's their circulation have to do with the Stiletto review? People don't buy these magazines for their in-depth tech reviews.

I bought and returned my Stilleto back in October. This article didnt exsist. I think the article might have more then ZERO impact. There is no way you can predict this. ALOT of people read these magazines.

By the way this is last thing I want, like I said I am an investor in the company and LOVE sirius. I think alot of people are in denial about this radio and just have to have the latest thing. And seeing Howard on TV everynight promoting this radio I can understand why. It is the same thing as when Howard promotes his armpit deoderant everyone runs out to get it. Howard is the master promoter.

How this device could be considered a "dud" is beyond me. I live in the middle of nowhere, PA and with the Sat. Phones, I get about one to two bars and only lose signal when I go stand under a large tree or go inside.

The wireless internet works as long as you don't have to "accept terms of conditions" of internet use like you do at most hotels.

The MP3 Player works well enough for me, a guy that doesn't need a library of 30 gigs with me at all times.

I can love songs.

Nothing they have promised hasn't happened with the device.

I really truly think that there are people out that expect their quality of life to drastically improve just because they droped 349 on a satellite radio. I don't get it.

It is what it is and it is what I expect. I'm satisfied.

Couldn't you see the product before you bought it.. Mine came in a see through package. I knew it was for me by LOOKING at it and reading reviews.

People get really attached to their products and seem to be fond of saying stupid things like "this is shit" or "this is the greatest product ever". Everyone has opinions, can't you just leave it at that. As I have said before, I love my stiletto, but if it didn't work, I would not think they were all crap. If you like the functionality it is supposed to have, then buy a new one and see if you just got a dud the first time. If you just don't like the design, then DON'T BUY IT. Is that that hard?

I've had the Stiletto for over a month, and I still think it is great... Sure theres some bugs to work out, but the Stiletto has so many things that more than make up for it...

Wireless internet being the granddaddy of cool things available... Finally they come up with a good solution to the satellite reception issues...

Also the whole recording/replays part I love -- I didn't get the S50 when it came out (it seemed more like an iPod than a radio), so I jumped from standard old Sirius Radios without that feature... And while it wasn't the main reason for getting the Stiletto, I love it..

This is the first Sirius radio that made me get excited about Sirius's future -- a far cry from being a "dud"

I love people like a1autoins who believe that THEIR opinion is the only valid opinion. And that's all this argument is about... a matter of OPINION.

That is, if what you say can be taken at face value...

a1autoins, if you truly do have shares in Sirius, why would you go to a Sirius message board and badmouth a product sold by the very company in which you claim to have shares??? Isn't that somewhat of a conflict of interest? If I had shares in Sirius, I'd be telling everyone and their cousin to buy every Sirius product imaginable. Or, if I truly didn't like a product the company put out, I would, at the very least, keep my friggin' mouth shut! If you have a complaint, you complain to the company, you don't go to a public forum and badmouth that company.

The fact that you are complaining about a product made by a company you claim to have shares in, on a message board dedicated to that company and it's products, leads me to believe that you probably do not have shares in Sirius as you say you do.

*sniff, sniff* I smell a troll.

P.S. I absolutely LOVE my Stiletto... that's MY opinion.

I was just rereading this whole stupid thread (my opinion ) and am trying to find a place where a1autoins says what is wrong with the product. He said that it was not for him and continues to say that, but never gives a real reason. Well, he did infer that he didn't like the looks of it based on the comment about not wanting to see it in his car. I guess that does make this a dud. Personally, I really don't like the look of the s50 in the car dock, that big silver scroll wheel with the pup in it is a little much.
