Thumbs up Stiletto Named Device Dud Of The Year!!

The Stiletto was just named the DUD of the year by men.style.com, the online home for GQ and Details magazine. I can see why, it is the oddest looking thing out there. I can see it now; $79.00 within 6 months. So glad I returned this junk, and opted for the improved S50 for $79.00, and pocketed $270.00!

I also returned my SL100 and got an S50 for $80...but calling the Stiletto "junk" is a little harsh, especially since so many in these forums love theirs...

I do like the extra money in my pocket, but I hope that maybe once the Stiletto drops in price a bit and a few features are added or enhanced via firmware updates, that I can get another one...

I have an S50 sitting here in a bag next to me and if you PAID me $200 I wouldn't go back to using it over my Stiletto.

Most of the people are caught up in the hype of Howard pushing the Stiletto every two minutes. I will not buy another portable until they have mastered the design and size of the unit. Probaly at least 2-3 years away at the rate they are going. The S50 is the perfect design but could be a bit thinner, and add some color options. If, they could make that in to a live portable it would be the ultimate receiver. Once that ad from Mens Style circulates, forget about it. All stiletto owners will be the laughing stock of the satellite world.

Many people look at a picture of a device like the Stiletto and assume many of it's capabilities.

Anyone who understands Satellite Radio will know it's not going to get perfect reception everywhere.

There is a segment of people out there who every year expect one product to dramatically improve one's life. I don't see that as happening anytime soon.

I've never had a cell phone that was flawless, nor a computer.

BTW, if men.style.com somehow believes that the Stiletto has been falsely advertised, I also think that it's too bad they didn't mention in the article that some people Can get reception almost anywhere. Because some live in markets where that is possible.

Mine is perfect. The newer S50's are stable and fully operational, I made sure of it before my purchase. Why do you think they are now sold out from sirius.com. Thats what happens when you have to be the first person to buy something, you get ripped off. If your patient you get a good product at a good price.

I am sure the Stiletto price will go down over the next year to what is actually worth, just like the S50 did.

Patience is a Virtue.

lol, ok. go back to the xm forums. Your post would suggest that everyone in the free world both reads Mens Style as well as makes purchases only based on their opinions. Hardly the case.

Why when anyone says anything bad about anything. you think they are some crazy spy from XM?? Grow up.

I am a investor in Sirius (not a happy one at this point), have 4 radios and Howard fan for over 10 years, criticism from the investors and subscribors is important in the growth of the company.

I do and apparently tons of other people considering you couldn't find them in stock anywhere for months after the release.

You say you have the S50, is that car install much different? No. I just traded my S50 in for the Stiletto and connected to the same mount I used for the S50. Not much size different. If anything, the s50 seemed too long and skinny (not proportional) to me. The stiletto is more sturdy and I love the presets on the dock.

ok, so you bought it, and it wasn't for you. So just because you didn't like it, those of us who do like it are the (yours words here) laughing stock of the satellite radio world?

And as for the looks, the s50 and stiletto look very similar.
