Default Soloist Sticker Removal

I am sure that I am not the only one who thinks that the sticker on the Soloist is one of the dumbest ideas.

I pulled slowly (because I was warned) and I still have stickiness on about a 1/4 of the speaker.

How did you guys get it off?

I know what DAB did and I wanted to see what others have done.

Thanks.

I totally agree. What a bad idea putting a sticker there.

I've pulled off a few. Some didn't come off easily others did.

The trick is patience. And I can't say for sure what would be the perfect cleaning the surface but some strong window cleaner worked Ok.

Take it into a hot steamy room... You can create your own or a hot tub works good... I recommend you have a little fun and create your own. That baby boy will peel right off. LOL

Nah, actually getting this thing off was a total bitch! I told MM last night whatever moron or morons came up with this, should have their balls wrapped in this stuff.

Mine looks terrible, I just pulled it in one motion and it's all sticky looking with the glue still on there. I was hoping to steam it over the holidays and get some of it off.

what's this sticker you are talking about? I see no sticker in the pictures. Maybe I need to use my eyes?

There is no sticker in pictures I've seen, but there is a sticker that covers the whole speaker panel.

I used some eye class cleaner on a damp cloth... that sort of rolled the glue up in a ball. Then after it dried I was basically able to just roll it off the surface. Mine looks clean, but I was fortunately only one small spot had it on there.

Here is my attempt to remove the sticker. You can already see some of the remnents on the top right corner. I went back and used the sticker itself to pull those pieces off. This picture was of course before I returned it.

Vegetable oil will remove it.

I used the sticky side of evil sticker to remove the rest of the residue.

There is a product called "Goo-B-Gone" that works well on other tape type removal. I don't have the Soloist, but it works well on every other plastic surface I've used it on. It smells better than xylene. . . but isn't as fun. . .

I finally got around to this today. I remembered at Target to get some goo-be-gone. They didn't have any. I got some "krud kutter." It did not do the trick at all.

I then tried WD-40. It came loose and I could rool it off, but I would be trying for hours.

My wife suggested nail polish remover. It worked!! I got all of the stickiness off very easily. I used a cloth towel with light pressure.

And yes the Soloist does still work.

Another trick to remove stickers is using a blow dryer to warm the surface then take it of SLOWLY.

I used to use that trick all the time to PS2 consoles to get the warranty sticker off without it saying VOID all over the console.
