Post Stiletto bug/enhancement list

Maybe i'm missing how to do it, but one enhancement i'd like to see if it isn't in there already, is the ability to click the select button when your sports games are notifying you to have it automatically switch to that games channel.

Currently I get the notification that my teams game is on, then I have to go scrolling around at 80MPH on the Masspike trying to find what channel the game is on.

The "tune select" option wouldn't be a bad idea either as it goes hand in hand with this. Where if I wanted to flag some artist like say Donnie Iris (Pittsburgh reference)...everytime he comes on, it would notify me and I could click select to tune to that station. Kinda like the PNP units do now with the memo/artist save feature.

2. XM also had the "tune select" that would let you pick your 20 favorite artists and when one would come on any channel it would notify you and let you switch to that channel with one click.
3. Ability to record across channels. For example, when I am driving and recording one station I have to stay on that station to continue recording. If I change I have to end the recording. Why can't I continue to record and each channel I change it records that channel?

While this note sounds negative, Sirius sound quality is the best and the Stiletto has many more features than my old XM My-fi not to mention NASCAR!
Thanks Sirius!
The stiletto does have tune select its called artist/song seek...its in its own catagory under settings...

XM's chipsets are less power hungry, but the Stiletto does not power the docks and/or antennas. On XM docks there is really nothing to power but the antenna.

XM also has a lawsuit right now and much of it has to do with them having the tune select feature on their newer tuners. Apparently on devices that can record over a certain amount the RIAA doesn't want those tuners have the artist/song seek. So this is why the S100 doesn't have this feature but the S10 does.

SIRIUS implimentation of the Replay is just different than XM's. XM will allow you to switch channels without clearing the buffer and SIRIUS tuners do clear the buffer when you change channels. This is by design and it would be nice if they changed it, but I don't see it happening.

Yeah, I got the SL100, so i'm up the creek with Artist Seek unfortunatly.

Still, being able to hit select on the sports stuff would be posh in my mind.

I truly do hope that these requests do get seen by the technical folks. I can appreciate the fact that there aren't as many users as an iPod with the stiletto, but if sirius wants to remain in the game for a long time, I would think they would like to improve their products.

1) Sleep timer. A simple function, that I hope can be added. It's hard to believe that my $50 starmate can do this, but my high end stiletto can't.

2) Software compatible with macintosh. I realize this is a huge longshot, and it does take lots of time and money to develop such software, but to be competitive in this market, there needs to be compatible software.

3) Start recording from power off. If I have a scheduled recording, and my device is off, the unit should power on by itself and record. There's no point to leave it powered on for useless amounts of time just to catch a recording...(on a side note, when the device can't find a signal, the recording is terminated. If there was an option to scan for a signal every 10 minutes during the alloted recording, this feature would be nice)

Thanks again.

B.

Bryansinger, sleep timer, it something we've requested, but I don't know if it will make it in or not. Mac support, I doubt it. The Stiletto will record from standby, so you are saying you want it to power on when totally shut down to record? I don't think you'll see that happen either. The tuner does scan for a signal, but if it doesn't get one, then it won't initiate the recording function. So, you think it should continue to try and at any given time even though it maybe up to 10 min later it should still kick off and record?

Maybe this is true for the home dock, but it doesn't seem to work with the car dock. If they can get the standby record working on the car dock, then the 4 hour power off would be less of an issue for me.

Good point Larry and I was reading so fast that I missed that he was actually referring to the car dock! I guess I just don't record using the car dock, so I don't see that as a major impact on me, but it appears that many people do and would do more recording from the car dock if it were feasible. Again I will push this issue, but I don't know if it will make much difference.

I would like to see a fix to make timer recordings more reliable. This problem does not happen all the time, but when I put my Stiletto in the home dock either turned on or in sleep mode, i find out it does not record the program I set. If I catch it doing this during the recording time frame I remove it from the dock, turn it off and boot it back up. I return it to the dock, where it will begin recording for the remainder of the timer period.

Another issue is if I have 3 timer recordings set, the first two will record, but the last will not. This too happens sporadically. I have seen these problems addressed in other threads, but figured it needed to be added to this list.

When the Stiletto works, it's the best thing out there, but IMO the S50 has it beat in one area and that is recording reliability. I hope the next update fixes this issue.

Remove the 75% volume limit when the Stiletto is in the car dock.

The S50 didn't have this limit so I'm not sure why they added it to the Stiletto.

The volume limit I can only surmise was them trying to make sure that folks didn't over drive their sound systems and cause distortion. I wouldn't expect this to be removed. I don't even think this was on our original list.

Don't forget we are having a Stiletto Support Chat and you'll be able to at some point make suggestions for features and/or changes you'd like to see made. I suggest all of you that have items you'd like to see thrown out there be present for this important chat.

It is my understanding the the stiletto does not support apple computers. I would like to buy a stiletto but until the software is compatible with an apple I will not buy one.

With the 75% limit I have to turn my radio up even more to get the volume level I was getting with the S50. The problem occurs when I switch to a different source, for example if I switch to a CD, the volume is extremely loud compared to the Stiletto.

I don't think they should completely remove this feature but at least make it user configurable.
