Thumbs up I got one too!

I'm new to the forums and decided to stop trolling and post.

I recieved a SL100 and a Soloist Universal Sound System (USS) for Xmas.

I really like the SL100 format, WiFi capabilities. When docked into the USS which is connected to a PNP antenna, the sound is very good. I live north of Boston without a nearby repeater, so the headset antenna reception, well, it stinks.

Overall, I'd give the Stiletto a 8/10.

What I *really* want is a home repeater! Then I don't have to run fargin antenna wire all over the house.

The sound quality of the satellite reception compared to the Wi-Fi is distinct, not to mention that I listen to a number of channels not available over the internet with a *standard* sub. That's the other thing I should get with my subs, full channels over the internet.

Owel, Love my sirius(es) and will *NEVER* go back to old school radio.

Sirius home repeaters would be AWESOME! My solution to that was a whole house FM transmitter. I can tune any radio in my house to 107.9 FM and listen to my Sirius sat radio. The only problem is having to run into the office whenever I want to change the channel, or buzz through commercials on recordings. Does anyone know if Sirius has plans for a home repeater?

The WiFi is nice, but it would be better to have a home repeater - recordings could be done on the fly - which is not possible with WiFi.

I have a hard time believing though that somebody is going to become so "jaded" that they're giving up on a product because they got one bad unit. But... enjoy whatever you do.
Who is going to enjoy FM??? If you would have read my earlier posts I have 3 other Sirius subs and love them to death. I was expecting greatness with the Stiletto and did not get it. Im jaded by the Stiletto not Sirius service. Maybe in a few months when the price goes down, I will pick one up again and give it a shot. I really wanted this to work out.

Yes and there are many of us that think it IS GREAT and that your jaded perspective is totally unfounded, but of course you are welcome to it. Like I said it is almost as if you are looking for a reason. Now it sounds like it just boils down to price in this post.

If I'm not getting Jolly Jester confused with someone else (i've been known to do that), I think his complaint is that the Stiletto is only a slight improvement over the S50 -- yet the S50 is now presumed to be on its way to being obsolete and can be found for much cheaper...

I skipped over the S50 myself, so the Stiletto is definitely great in my eyes... But had I paid full price for the S50, would I have been happy paying in the neighborhood of 300 bucks for a slight improvement? I dont think so... I'd prob be complaining too.

But, then again, i saw the S50 and it didnt have the portability that I wanted, so I knew I didnt want it... And was rewarded with an unbiased view of the Stiletto that has all the cool things thathe the s50 had with the portability & wifi of the stiletto

Talking Follow up after owning a Stiletto 100 for two weeks...

I've now had my Stiletto for a couple of weeks and I'm really enjoying it!

I've hooked up the car kit and it works great once I got a cassette adapter and disabled the FM modulator.

I'm using the home dock with WiFi and it works flawlessly. I eventually will run an antenna to my roof so I can get the satellite feed.

When listening while walking around the house, I use headphones and WiFi and that too works great. Signal strength using just the unit outside is minimal and a bit better with the satellite headphones. I wish they didn't hurt to wear.

As far a Sirius content goes, listening to commercial free radio is a new and very cool experience. I opened a bottle of wine, put the Stiletto in the home dock, which is connected to some speakers, and proceeded to listen to three hours of Classic Vinyl and didn't hear a single song that I didn't like! The DJs talk briefly but never disrupt the flow of music.

The Stiletto has a couple of annoyances, but overall, I am very happy with it and with Sirius radio.
