Smile FM Extender Cable

Hi,

I got the home and auto kits for my Stiletto S100 for Christmas! I have made a rough install of the auto kit in my 2003 VW Passat. I am about to test it as is now, then later I will try adding the FM Extender Cable to see if it helps. But your right, it is just one more cable to have to run all the way from the rear window to the center console. I might use it though until I can get a better option installed to connect to my radio. I'll let you all know how it works.

I found my instruction manual from my first car kit and it made no mention of this cable. This extender cable plugs into the FM out and you are supposed to stick the end of it on your windshield (or rear window) nearest to your antenna. More clutter! Has anyone used this yet? Is it worth it? Did Sirius get tired of giving away Direct FM adapters and decide to do this instead? Havent seen anyone mention this cable on a thread yet. Thanks
That thing really sucks. I have a 2002 Ford F350 and I hooked that thing up the way it tells you to in the book and I cant hear anything. I never had a problem with any of the other radio's. I have so far owned almost all the radio's and this thing is really gettin under my skin. Well today I figured out a crappy fix if any of you have the same problem I am having with not being able to find one single station that dosent get static bleed through. Just remove your antenna from your truck. That so far is the only fix I could come up with. I mean I guess I can go out and buy that other FM direct thing but I also listen to Sirius in my personal truck and a combination of 6 track loaders and 2 scrapers. Guess I gotta buy ten of them. Or maybe just switch back down to a starmate. I guess I'll wait for Sirius to reply to my email. Been waiting for a while now. Maybe they will get back to me next year. Hope so.

yea, howard mentioned something a while ago that xm has some problems with the fcc because their fm transmitter thing was too strong so i guess the had to reduce it. is that pic of the wire pretty much the same thing as that little 1 or 1/2 foot wire that came with the original sportster?

Question

if you took one of these fm extenders, wrapped it around your antenna and then wrapped it up with aluminum adhesive tape...what do you think it would sound like then?

btw, I've installed this thing on my back windshield and it definitely helps. It's still crap though...aux cable for the win.
