Default Help connecting Stiletto to PC

Sounds like an easy fix, but hours of work has been involved. I recently bought the Stiletto 100. After installing the included program, I went to attach the device to the included USB cable. My computer finds it as new hardware "Stiletto 100" as well as a "MTP Device". It then automatically promps me to the Found New Hardware wizard for the "MTP device", not the "Stiletto 100". When the wizard is complete is says that it could not install it properly because "Error: The device did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion". If I go ahead and open the program , the stiletto icon is not there, therefore I cannot upload music to my device. I have un-installed and re-installed the program several times now and the same problem happens. Sirius tech support told me that this is the only time that they have encountered this problem, which I find hard to believe. Please respond with some help!

Angry Stiletto

I have the same problem. Sirius tech support said it was just a software update problem, but I've uninstalled the software and installed software from both cd and weblink, with no final resolution.

Did you try installing it with your Anti-Virus software disabled?

tried without the "active virus shield" and without "active security monitor"... even went into .NET Framework and made sure the iPod hardware, UPnP, Portable Media Services and everything that remotely related to drivers for detachable media devices were automatically enabled... but still nothing works.. even went in and changed the driver files for the FW and ZAP to have the matching PID and VID for the USB port- nothing.. tech support sucks and they told me to just return it- they havent heard any one saying they have the same problem... i have all the updates from microsoft and even the MTP porting package and the enhancements- what the hell is wrong? someone tell me i am being stupid and just missing something!!!! thank you soooo much- i am going insane with this $400 toy haha

Red face Stiletto PC Connection - possible fix

Go to FAQs on sirius website and download most recent flash player and microsoft media player 11. Run both and then connect your stiletto to your pc and it should recognize it. Just worked for me

Well Microsoft did it because you must have SP2 to get Windows Media Player 11, which if you don't have a legit copy of Windows you can't get SP2, and you can't get Windows Media Player 11, etc etc etc...

Hey guys, I was also experiencing the same problems with the Stiletto being recognized by my PC, but came across the stickied thread that detailed the system recovery here:
HTML Code:
http://www.siriusbackstage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90429
I went through the process and was able to have the deviced be recoginzed by YME and even have been able to download music onto the stiletto. GASP! Give it a try, it's better than a sharp stick in the eye.
