Default New to Sirius, Stiletto reception questions?

I didn't have the car kit professionally installed, i am having issue with getting consistent reception on many of the channels recommended. I live in Metro Columbus, Ohio What is my best option for optimal sound and reception? Also is the cassette adaptor an option that works well? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The cassette is an easy fix. If you really don't want the wire sticking out of your cassette, your radio might have an aux input of some kind. If it does not and you still want to go through the FM modulator, then the fix is to get the FM Direct Adapter which connects your radio directly to the antenna input of your car radio and at the same time disconnects the outside antenna from the radio so it cannot pick up radio stations eliminating the static issues. That relay can be hard to install since you have to disconnect the antenna of your radio and connect the relay. You probably would need CC or BB install it for you.

Other than having an additional (albeit small) wire hanging out of your dash, personally I find that the cassette adapter works and sounds great.

Too bad more and more new cars won't have cassette players.

It seems to me that Bluetooth might be a good alternative to connect these devices in the future. It has the convenience of FM Modulation but can be keyed so it does not cause interference.

I use Bluetooth at home every day.

The top unit connects to my Stiletto home dock, and streams to the headsets.

I can see next year's model now. Built in Blue Tooth will automatically send signal to car radio or headphones. No aux input needed. No more static. How much $$$ did those blue tooth headphones set you back. Do they work by plugging in directly to the stiletto in portable mode?
