Default Powering down while undocking

Sorry if this has been addressed here before, and I might have missed this point in the Stiletto manuals, but is it OK to undock from either a car or home dock without powering the receiver down?

I know this was important with the S50. I've been undocking hot with the Stiletto with no apparent adverse effects. I'm just wondering if i've been lucky so far, or might possibly be causing harm that will surface later.

I Have home dock. If battery is in. Then I pull it out while is, and it will stay on. If no battery. Sometimes I turn it off first. Sometimes I pull it while it is on. I don't think it really matters.

The S50 was a two piece design in that without the dock the S50 was nothing more than a media player. There was many of the required electronics for "LIVE" reception in the docks, which is why they were more expensive than the Stiletto docks. This is why the S50 did not allow hot docking and undocking.

The Stiletto being a full self containted tuner is not affected at all, but hot docking and undocking!
