Post 3 bars?

Anybody ever get 3 bars on their satellite signal on the stiletto 100? It's seems wherever I am I get 2 bars at the most and usually it's 1. I'm talking about being out in the open with no obstructions also. I'm in florida for the next 2 weeks and I realize I'm far from the sattelite, but it should be better than that. Wish there were a signal booster available!

In a home dock?

With the receiver alone outdoors I get between one to two bars, one usually. With the headset outdoors I've gotten three, usually two bars. With the home kit and its antenna mounted on the roof, I get three consistently, no less than two.

3 bars all the time with home dock. 2 bars with headset antenna. I rely on direct sat signal. Repeaters are hundreds of miles away from me.

Car and Home Docks 2 or 3 bars all the time.

Headphone Antenna 1 or 2 bars never 3

Stiletto Alone 1 bar maybe except when near a repeater then full blast. Especially when repeater is on the roof of the building I'm in. ( had that happen once and the signal was incredable)

Where is that building?? And how much rent do they charge
With my new sirius addiction finding a strong repeater signal is just as important as finding a good school for the kids when choosing a new home! Ha ha...kidding ofcourse

As for the building it was in Tysons Corner VA Repeater 234. Here is that post. Rent probably is expensive.

never see 3 bars with the headphones.... dock at home, all the time. But only 1-2 with headphones. And one is the norm which means it cuts out all the time with just the headphones...... and I live in LA...
Still love this thing though!

It is the way it is designed. Home antenna and even the car antenna have a better gain than the headphone antenna and the built-in antenna. Unfortunately since there's not much gain from the headphone antenna nor built-in antenna, it'll produce a weaker signal than the home/car antenna.

Headphones in South Jersey I get sometimes one at best and 1-2 in car with supplied magnetic antenna for car dock . I`m waiting for the better Outdoor antenna to arrive to see what I can get with that

If you are only getting 1-2 consistantly in the car, you should check your setup... I drove from MA to OH to NJ to MD and always had at least two bars (usually three), unless I went under an overpass. And that was in some crappy weather too.
