Default Chicago users, what frequency do you use with your Stiletto?

I was using 87.7 with my replay by the damn Stiletto doesn't go that far down!

I've tried everything in range but cannot get a clear signal, I'm using the FM wire as suggested also.

1) Please, Chicago people, tell me a good frequency.
2) Anybody know why they removed the lower frequencies?
3) Anybody know a way around this without using Aux line in?

I've used 99.7 and 92.7 in the past. I use an AUX cable now.

87.7 and 87.9 were in violation of some FCC rule in the US. That is why they were moved. For the car dock I suggest the Sirius Direct Relay.

For the home dock I suggest a way to use aux input. There are some other FM Modulators that have a stronger signal that you might be able to buy and attach through the antenna jack.

Chicago like DC is just full of FM stations so you are likely not to find a good one or if you do, once you move a few miles you start getting static again.

In my Van I used the Direct Relay and that solved the problem for me. Others have used a wire out the FM Out to give the existing FM Modulator better distance, but again in a big city you are overwhelmed with existing FM radios.

Here is a web site to find vacant fm frequencies:
http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/vacant

Good Luck! If you work at it you can make it work. Happy New Year!

Do you have a cassette adapter?

Dude, if tss-radio does not have an auxilary input adaptor for your car, the tape player is the second best option. Check here for the adaptor...http://www.tss-radio.com/auxiliary-i...0ea2ebe9fe1734

Thanks for all the replies. I tried the suggested frequencies as well as the site to help locate and none of them are clear. So...looks like I'll have to get the AUX adapter, I do not have a cassette player in my car.

Also, thanks for the info about the lower frequency change regarding the FCC.

I found a better one today than 88.5.
106.9 seems to work better.
I drive all around Chicago during the day and 106.9 works good south(from Harrison St. all the way to the south suburbs) and north of the Loop( I got as far as Montrose, probably good north of there as well).
I'll post later if I find a better one.

Post Freq in Chicago

I think there is a conspiracy out there because all of a sudden reception has gotten worse not sure if sirius changed settings via a channel update or if the testical stations are flooding the airwaves with static to discourage us. In any event I got the relay and am glad to say Howard is back on 105.9
