Default Stiletto won't turn off with Soloist

Here's my problem that is driving me insane:

I have my Stiletto set to record Howard 100 from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am daily.

I have my Soloist set at 9:55 pm to turn on and to turn off at 4:05 am.

The Soloist with the Stiletto in the cradle turns on fine at 9:55 pm. The Stiletto starts recording at 10:00 pm just fine. The recording stops at 4:00 am perfectly. My problem is that the Soloist with the Stiletto in cradle does not shut off at the 4:05 am designated time. Out of 5 times this week, in shut off once as scheduled. The other days I wake up and the damn thing is still on.

Any suggestions???

this is kind off topic but does the soloist charge the stiletto? is there anyway to hook it up to my computer via usb/firewire? i already have a home kit and wouldn't mind having the soloist in my office.

It's a known bug with the Stiletto/Soloist combo. I don't know if there is a way to work around it, or if there is a firmware update coming down the pipe soon to take care of it, but right now, AFAIK, there is no fix.

Do you have any problems with how it is now other than a pet peeve? If you have any other problem, then there might be a workaround, but I don't know for sure.

No other pet peeves. It works great except for the fact that it won't shut off after I enter the time for it to do so. It did once.

I have done little 5 minute testers and it works fine. But when I set it for 1000pm and shut off at 400 am, it doesn't shut down...it just stays on. My show is getting recorded though

Have you ever noticed if the Soloist is OFF, but the Stiletto is just still on? Just curios, because I've never had mine fail to shut off unless it was out of sync.

Actually yeah! I believe the Stiletto is on but the Soloist is off. The Stiletto has finished recording though...it's just on.

Any thoughts??

Clearly they are losing sync with each other, but as I said I've never had it happen. So, I am not sure what to tell in terms of offering up a solution. Since the Soloist is coming on and then the Stiletto is recording. It seems like during that process they are losing sync. I honestly hardly ever use my Soloist for recording because it is such a pain in the butt to use. But the dozens of times that I have used it, it always turn off just fine. Why they made this device so that it has to sync is beyond my understanding. It should be just like the home dock in my opinion. Heck just leave it on and set the schedule don the Stiletto and let it record, is how it should be.

Just woke up today and the Stiletto was still on but the Soloist was off. So the Soloist DID in fact shut down as scheduled at 400 am but the Stiletto stayed on.

Why would the Stiletto stay on when the Soloist shuts down????

Because they are now out of sync. So what is happening is, the Stiletto shuts off when it completes recording. Then 5 minutes later the Soloist gives the command to shut down, well the Stiletto is already off, so it does just the opposite, it comes on. Now you know why people pull their hair out trying to recording with the Soloist. By the way I did a test this morning too and my results were the same as yours. Soloist Off, Stiletto On. I got to thinking about my previous recordings and I had always removed the Stiletto when it was finished recording, so this is why I never noticed it coming back on, but the Boombox does the EXACT same thing. Boombox Off, Soloist On and what is even more strange, when the Stiletto goes off, it turns the Boombox on, then then Stiletto comes back on, so now you have music... loud music if your speakers are turned up. This is totally CRAZY!!!

Home Docks are the only way to go for recording... I already knew this, but just going through this process with you.

Well that makes sense! Thanks. I had no idea the Stiletto shut down after it was done recording. I will have to mess and adjust the times. Thanks.

Question:
If I have my soloist shut down near the end, during my 6hr Howard recording, will it save the portion I did record or will it record nothing?
