Default Proclip Mount???

I checked on the website an nothing comes up for the S100.
The Canadian rep called me (great service btw) and said there was no mount.
He said to just get the clip for the vehicle and drill holes (amps compatible?) for the screw holes for the Stiletto dock.
Is this what Proclip owners are doing??

ProClip mounts are specific to the type vehicle you have, not the type tuner you have. Go back to the site and look up your specific vehicle and order it. It will already have pre-drilled holes for you to mount the Stiletto.

@DAB: The holes have to go all the way through (which they don't) and the current templates do not support the stiletto car dock mount anyway.

I thought maybe I could help with this because I just installed one this morning. Yes, you have to drill holes but it's not an issue. I put a piece of paper over the mounts of the car kit and punched holes through with a pen. I made sure it would sit straight and created dots using a sharpie through the template paper. I didn't want to make the plastic splinter (i don't know if this is the case with thick plastic but I didn't want to find out the hard way) so I started with a smaller bit (to start the holes), then a middle size bit and then on to the largest. Just make the holes on the clip larger than the screw but smaller than the screwhead. That way you have a little "give" when it comes to mounting it. Get the ProClip...it's solid as hell. Hope this helps...

No. One choice is for the vehicle and the other is for the mounting plate for your specific need (ie. pda, smart phone etc).

We've already had four or five people mount them here, including me. I didn't have to have a mounting plate and YES mine had holes drilled already in it for mounting my S100 or for using one of these mounting plates, which you do not need for a sat radio.

Here is a whole thread on using the ProClip, I don't see anyone saying they had to drill. So, I am not sure if you got a generic one that requires you drill it or exactly what you got. I am just sharing my experience and I did not have to drill anything because the AMPS pattern holes were already there.

me and my buddy both received and installed our ProClips this morning. Neither were made for a Stiletto Car Kit. Neither had holes all the way through. Both had pre-drilled holes that went half-way through but you have to come from the back to mount the car kit. either way...proclip is the way to go.

I have a 2004 Pontiac Vibe. My buddy has a truck (no idea what kind...s-10?).

I found another post supporting my findings (found it in a second...he even posted pictures.)

It is very strange that mine was already drilled through, but apparently you are correct it does require drilling. I am wondering now if because mine was on back order for 3 weeks if they sent me one that was used and already drilled or if they just drilled it out for me, because they knew I was using it for my Stiletto. Just out of curiosity was yours in any kind of packaging, because mine was just in a box, not in packaging.

We do agree that the ProClip mounts are the best. I've tried the Panavise, but those things are terrible by comparison.

You hit the nail right on the head. Both of our ProClips came in packaging. The cardboard at the top with staples through a plastic bag. Must have been a specialty deal or something.

Well thanks for telling me that... I am wonder now if they sent me a used one. It works, so I guess I shouldn't complain about it.

Again thanks for setting me straight on the drilling, because of mine I assumed they were all already drilled out. Live and Learn!

Mine was a new one with the holes drilled all the way through. The Stiletto mounted perfectly.

Well you just made this topic even more interesting and I didn't see where you had to drill either, so assumed correctly in that yours was just like mine.

I believe that me_rubin only drilled because he wanted the Stiletto to sit down lower in the mount.

His mount is like ours.

I got the center clip for the Volvo S60.

I received 2 (the first one broke) and I had to drill holes on both. The first one only had small holes which didn't fit. The second one had big holes but those didn't fit the Stiletto either.

Mark.
