Check the memory Settings -> Device -> Memory Usage. See what % it says for Files from your PC. It can't be more than 49%

Hey guys, the problem I am having so far is when I get the Sirius Studio up and drag all my desired songs to it, the Stiletto icon never comes up. All I get is the PC icon on the right side. I've tried powering the Stiletto down and unplugging it from the computer, but still no love.

I get the device window when I plug it in, and it gives me the option of chosing to always start with the Sirius Studio or with Yahoo music when I plug in the device. I've tried chosing both, but I still get no icon. But there seems to be some sort of bug in that window because I get 2 other options that are just jumbled letters. Should I reinstall or what do you all think? If I could get the icon to show up, it looks like it would work fine.

i think the problem may be (if you are using itunes as your source from which you are getting your songs) that either the stiletto cant accept songs that you bought from itunes store because they are protected, or that your songs are not authorized on that itunes. i think its the first one. go donwload Limewire and get songs from there. that seems to be working for me

I don't know if you guys have Windows Media Player Version 11, but once I installed that, I could no longer transfer files to my Stiletto without it freezing up. It would install so many and then freeze up or sometimes just drop-out without freezing. Once this happened, I couldn't get it to do anything without rebooting the computer and Stiletto. Once I removed WMP11, my Stiletto wouldn't show up anymore in MSS or YME. Just remember the only files that the Stiletto supports are WMA's protected/unprotected and MP3's.

If you are not seeing the Stiletto icon in MSS the computer is not recognizing the stiletto.

Is the stiletto turned on? It must be on for the pc to recognize it.

Is the stiletto in a dock? or are you using the cable directly from the stiletto to the USB port. If you are using a dock, you may need to press the SYNC button.

The computer is recognizing the Stiletto b/c I get the little icon down on the toolbar and can click it and it brings up the window where you can choose for it to start Sirius Studio or Yahoo Music. It also gives me 2 other jumbled choices there. I can highlight any of the four and hit OK, but then nothing ever happens. I transferred songs from ITunes, but some of them MSS would not accept. But that has nothing to do with not recognizing my Stiletto in MSS. There is just no icon.

I am going directly from the Stiletto to the USB, no dock. Should I reinstall? By the way, thank you very much for your help.

That is exactly what mine did with WMP11 installed.

Unfortunately, you are not alone. MSS is an extremely flawed program, and the Stiletto itself is a "work in progress" (to put it nicely). If you are just using it to listen to and record satellite radio, it actually works pretty well. As an MP3 player, however, the Stiletto is among the worst I have ever used. Others may disagree, and that's precisely the problem. Sometimes they work perfectly, and other times they don't work at all. I have had all sorts of issues with my Stiletto. In fact, I'm on my second one. The first one was an utter piece of crap and I was lucky if I could get even one song to sync with it. The second unit is a little better, but it's still far from perfect. I just don't get it. How hard can it be to design a product that works like it's supposed to? I have never had any problems with my iPod nano. The thing has worked flawlessly since day one.

As far as getting songs on to the Stiletto, here is my advice. For starters, don't use MSS. I only use MSS to create playlists (which for some reason all have a .pla extension added to them ). Also, try uploading only one song at a time. This seems to help. Above all, don't give up hope. The Stiletto is a really cool device, and I have faith that Sirius will eventually iron all the kinks out. If they don't, they are just going to continue to drive away more and more customers.

I'm transferring some mp3s for my plane ride to DC. It's slower than all hell. It's transferring but it's dragging at a slugs pace. Is this the problem your having...patience? I dunno...give it a shot...it might work.

I just bought a stiletto today and I have been researching before buying through SIRIUS BS and saw the problems with windows media player 11, I didn't want to redo my entire computer like you did so I did some research and discovered that it is possible to roll-back to WMP 10 from WMP 11.

1. Go into add and remove programs, remove Windows Media Player, It should ask you if you want to roll-back to you previous configuration or something like that. RESTART YOUR COMPUTER!!!

Now, for the rest of it...

2. go back to add and remove porgrams, remove Windows Media player 11 runtime, you may need to check the "Show updates box". Restart your computer again (sorry, I didn't make windows )

3. now remove Microsoft User-Mode Driver Framework Feature Pack 1.0.0, while removing this "program" it might popup a window about other programs that depend on this file, it is ok, click yes. Just to elaborate... this program/file was installed with windows media player 11, when you delete this file it rolls it back to the file that came with windows media player 10 (or whatever you had previously.

4. BAM! your done. after I did all those steps myself I saw the WMP icon had changed on my desktop, I opened it up and it gave me the menus like i had just installed WMP10, i clicked through all those and it still had all my music...

Unfortunately for a few of us that tried this, it removed WMP11, but left enough of the remenants that the Stiletto still did not show up in YME or MSS and if it did froze up when trying to transfer music.
