Default Recording with the boombox

Last night at around 11:15 I set to record at 4 A.M. and it did not record the program.
After the boombox powers down, the power button goes from blue to red and then goes completely off. This happens after a few hours, and it is similar to holding down the Stiletto's power button for more than five seconds. Once the boombox powers down completely, it won't turn on and it won't record.
I even tried using a separate timer. The boombox turned on but since the boombox had already powered down earlier the scheduled recording was erased.

I've found that I have to leave the boombox on all night.

This is not my experience. I have done recordings a number of times and rather the boombox is dark, meaning it is totally off or not. When the Stiletto sends the signal to start a recording, the boombox powers up and the recording proceeds. However, the Stiletto display doesn't come on, it remains dark, while recording. It does the same thing in the home dock. Are you sure the recordings aren't there? Are you perhaps removing it from the dock thinking it isn't recording when it is? There is actually no indication that it is, other than when you check the Library and it is there.

There is one issue that I have found with recording with the boombox. When the recording finishes, the Stiletto powers up fully and if the boombox is turned up, you'll now here it. Clearly in my mind the boombox, the soloist, none of these devices are good for recording. Perhaps I should say are as easy to recorded with as the home kit.

I've tried programming it several different ways.
Program stiletto, put it in sleep mode, place in boombox.
Place stiletto in boombox, program stiletto, turn off boombox, etc.
I've never touched the stiletto during recording.
I used to record with just the antenna headphones and yes, the Stiletto did remain dark during recording.
I wanted the boombox so I could listen inside the house without headphones, and to get a better satellite signal. But this recording process is a little frustrating. The only thing I can think of, is the fact that the antenna is inside the house. I do get three bars showing, but maybe I need to move the antenna on the roof to get a clean view of the sky. Where do you place your antenna?

Thanks for the response!

Yes, if you don't have a signal at the time it's scheduled to kick off the recording then it will not record. I have a home distribution kit with the antenna outdoors on the eve of my roof. 24/7 signal! No recording problems whatsoever with the boombox other than the one I mentioned above and it still records successfully.
