Default boombox question(S)

I have had the boombox for about three weeks. I love it!!! One question. I use it in battery mode a lot and have noticed that the blue power light blinks on and off occasionally when the boombox is operating. another question.....I just thought of.....When the boombox is powered off the power light stays red. Why? and how can it be turned off completely?

I love this forum and know someone has the answers.....Thanks

I've never seen the blinking blue power light, perhaps that indicates low batteries?

The red light will only stay on for 10 minutes and then it will shut off. The red light basically indicates the boombox is in standby mode. Also if you leave the boombox on and there is no sound for 10 minutes it will shut itself off.

I just bought myself a boombox tonight and I love it. It works perfect in my home office. I can't wait to use it outside. Anyway, I was wondering the same thing, how long do 8 D batteries last.

I'm so amped up about this thing. it sounds WAY better than I would have imagined and the bass boost is great. I couldn't be happier with this thing. Plus, I'm kind of excited that I can use my stiletto in my office now, rather that runnign out to the other car, grabbing the Visor, plugging it in upstairs and then usign the FM transmitter to broadcast downstairs. I would get stuck on one channel for most of the day (howard 100).

If you're on the fence on the boombox, there is no way you'll be disappointed. A little pricey but it does sound impressive.

I've used mine for over 4 hours now at a fairly decent volume and the batteries are still going. These are not rechargeables, which I think you would get less time using.

I am very happy with this boombox. I initially had some issues with whinning when in sat mode, but that cleared up and I've not had it again.

My review is here: http://www.siriusbackstage.com/forum...ad.php?t=91303

I've had the blinking blue light too with batteries. I assume that means low battery. Actually, eventually the main speakers quit giving out sound, but the bass was still working. I plugged it into AC and it worked like normal again. I purchased some energizer rechargeable D batteries, so I'll see how those work. Unfortunatley, the charge I have for the D batteries says it will take like 16-17 hours to charge those suckers and it can only charge 4 at a time! Luckily I won't be using it on batteries that often.

I am considering buying the Stiletto boombox. I have aux in connections in my police car and in my personal car, but next week I need to take a spare police car around the state of Indiana for a meeting and then another location. This car does not have an aux in connection on the radio. Will the boombox work OK to use in the car in place of the aux connection? Would I be able to use it to feed into the FM channel I need? I hate the thought of having to change channels constantly.

The boombox will work fine, but I would suggest an auto-antenna, plugged into the boombox for decent reception. I think you may find reception hit or miss trying to use the home antenna, unless you can mount it some place to get a good view of the sky. You can plug a home or car antenna into the boombox itself. FM output on the Stiletto is very weak, so I wouldn't count on it working that well. But I guess it is worth a try. You can always listen through the speakers on the boombox.

I get about four to five hours of play from the batteries. Less if you are turning the thing on and off a lot.

sentinel I use the boombox for the same reasons. I bought an ac power converter that utilizes the extra cigarette lighter in the car. I plug the boombox into the converter and it works like a charm. 8 hours in the cruiser with the full line up of sirius at hand.
