Default Am I the only one who thinks the antenna headphones aren't THAT bad?

Agreed, they could be a bit more comfortable, however they don't feel like they're tearing my head apart. I don't know what it is (most people say I have a big head, I don't know if that has anything to do with it) but they aren't that bad. When I take them off after wearing them for about an hour, my ears feel funny for about 5 seconds, but it's nowhere near the way you guys describe it. I'm happy they work for me, you can barely get reception without them.

Like I said, am I the only one who thinks this?

Well if I had that big ole head I probably would feel the same way.... OH wait I do have a big ole head and I do feel that way. LOL

Actually I wondered if I was the only one, because I've said this in several threads that I didn't find them nearly as bad as some folks. Then again I had worn the ones that I bought for my Inno and they are pretty much the same, so maybe my ears had been toughened up.

There is no doubt they could come up with a better solution and I honestly hope they do.

I don't find them that bad. They remind me of my first in ear headset I had in High School. I have a big head to so maybe that's it.

Call me nostalgic, they remind me of my first walkman.
Not really that bad though.

Not quite the response I was expecting

From what I've been reading here, most people complain about it as if they had to wear them too long, their head would break into two pieces...

It's nice to see not everyone hates them.

For me its the fact that I can feel them at all. With most of the smaller lighter earbuds you hardly notice that they are there. The antenna phones remind me of a Stethoscope pushing in on my ears.

Me_rubin is almost done with the headset conversion document for the people that really don't like them.

I dismantled my antenna headset and velcroed just the antenna portion of the setup to a baseball hat. Then I would use the supplied earbuds plugged into the earphone jack on the Stiletto. The problem with that was having to fight with 2 wires.

I went out and bought a good pair or "whole ear" headphones, and velcroed the antenna to the top of those. Then I wrapped the antenna wire to the wire for the headphones. 2 Plugs, but now only 1 wire. MUCH better!

Not that I hated the antenna headphone, they just weren't as comfortable as I would have liked, so I made them the way I wanted them.

oNce you put the black foam padding on the part that goes in your ear, they're harldy much worse than the regular earbuds.

They certainly won't get "sexiest headphone" award but if you're past all that, then so be it, they aren't that bad.

I agree.

I look at that, and my first thought is, "Wow, the sides of that look like they'll dig into the side of my head!"

count me in as a person that can't stand them..... they make my ears hurt really bad, after wearing them for only 5 minutes or so. I have to adjust them constantly or the pain in one spot will be really bad. They are too hard, and big or something.... I don't know what it is. But to me they are terrible.

What I dislike the most is that they won't stay still on my head when I move around. The earbuds are nasty, but tolerable for short periods. The longest I've worn them is about 30 minutes while raking and bagging leaves. When I would bend down to grab leaves to put in a bag the top would slide down and they'd almost fall off my head.

Thumbs down Comfort not THAT bad, but antenna reception is poor.

Hi,

Well I use the sat headphones quite often when I go for walks during my lunch break at work, and I find they are not that bad comfort-wise. But then I only use them for an hous or so at a time. During the rest of the day I use my folding over the ear headphones by Phillips since I am listening to recorded shows or replays, not live.

My biggest gripe with the sat headphones has always been the mediocre sat reception. This is even more noticable now that I have received both the home and car docks for Christmas. I wish they could figure out a way to incorparate the techology and signal gain of the micro dot antenna into a new inprove headset. The difference between the 2 is incredible and the micro dot is not much bigger.

The first couple times I wore them they did hurt. Then I figured out that I had them on backwards. The headphones went from excruciating to tolerable. Now I just have to figure my left and right socks.
