Default Activate Stiletto...Why?

I have 4 active subscriptions, i have the stiletto coming in the mail. I dont really want to add an additional subcription right away. My question is do i have to activate the stiletto to use all of its features. Can i use the Stiletto as an MP3 player without activating it? More importantly, can i use the sirius internet radio part of the stiletto using one of my other passwords for online listening?

Dont get me wrong i will definetly activate the stiletto in the near future. I just dont want to add a 5th subscription and pay 12.95 month. I want to wait until i can dump one of the 6.99 subs and replace it with the stiletto later on.

Thanks

You may not be able to do anything, but both of mine were active within minutes of purchase!

If anything, you may be able to load MP3 content. The Internet stream does not ask for your account info, so it must validate the radio ID. If you don't subscribe it will not stream.

If you don't subscribe, if you go to Internet Radio, the radio will say

"You need to have an active Sirius Subscription to listen to Internet Radio.

To verify your subscription, listen to a satellite radio channel."

I'm guessing it trusts that if you can get all the sat channels, that you can also listen to internet radio.

To be honest, I don't think it will let you listen to the library (and therefore your mp3s) without doing the same thing...

I just had my st4 professionally installed in my car, wife has the original starmate in her car, and my other 2 subs were gifts, so i dont want to bail on them so fast. With all the different car/home docks and boomboxes i have, i dont want to spend any extra money quite yet.

It does not cost any money to switch ESNS. You can always switch back. Sometimes they don't turn off the first one they switched, but they turn on the new one. Tell them your first one broke or something. They should not charge you.

You can allways call them back and have them switch it back.

I had a Starmate Replay that I replaced with the Stiletto. I called asked them to switch over to the new radio. New radio active in a few minutes, old radio deactivated in 3 days. No fees or anything involved, not even the activation fee I had to pay for the radio I gave my mom.

That's what I did. Swapped my S50 for my Stilleto, then sold the S50.

I don't think my switchover even took that long. I watched the Stiletto activate while I was still on the phone with customer service. I took about three days for the S50 to finally deactivate.
