Default Questions for Stiletto owners

Well I am in the market for a new Sirius handheld device. Can someone tell me about the Stiletto 100 vs 10 differences (outside the obvious). Does it have different programming function, etc. Then the most important questions. I have a BMW of which I am concerned about vehicle integration. I think the car kit quite frankly sucks so I was thinking about leaving my antenna that came with my starmate device in place and simply plug into the handheld unit. My car already has the 3.5MM aux input of which I want to use however nowhere have I seen images of the base of the Stiletto. Do you have to use the car dock or can you manually plug an external antenna and the input for audio to the car. Is this possible? It is a dealbreaker on the Stiletto purchase...
Many thanks for the help and the best damn channel for the record is 108.......

You will need the car dock to run an external antenna.

Am I the only one that see's that as an issue. So it you had a travel antenna and the unit you could use it accross multiple vehicles including rental cars etc. What options are there for people who dont want to travel with a car dock

Unless you're going to use the stiletto as a walkman, can't imagine being able to avoid a dock.

You are not the only one, there are many threads on the lack of antenna options. Some of us wedge the antenna headphones in the sunroof, I had some limited success with hanging them on the rearview mirror.

That will eliminate my purchase of one as I refuse to install the dock as it looks like crap and doubles the size of the unit.

that's your opinion, I personally think it looks good and I don't mind the size. It doesn't double the size, it's a dock just like any other dock which is meant to safely hold the equipment. It adds about 2 inches to the bottom of the Stiletto. If you're concerned solely about using it in your car, why not get one of the units that are a little smaller and don't need to be permanently mounted like a Stratus or a Sportster.

That is what I have right now however they do not have the same features as the Stiletto. The unit itself is awesome and I am willing to purchase however you cannot even buy a GPS these days that doesnt have a jack on the side of the unit for a mounted antenna. And yes, that is my opinion and the exact reason I asked the question in the 1st place.

the stiletto i think was originally designed as a portable device for use outdoors. That's the whole reason for the antenna headphones they supply, I think their original thinking was that people would use them more as a walkman than anything else. In my case, i rarely use it as a walkman but always use it in the home and car docks. I think that's why they didn't include a place for an external antenna hookup, they sort of provided that with the antenna headphones. I'm not defending them neccessarily, I'd love for it to have a jack myself but it's a limitation of the device. I agree with you, even my cell phone has a jack for an external antenna. It's just poor design by the manufacturer.

So is there any Stiletto owners that have integrated the unit into BMW's that can share the experience and show images so I can decide what course of action to take?
