Default Direct FM Relay vs. AUX in?

I've had a car with an aux in right on the face plate of the cd player (stereo mini to stereo mini). I really don't want to spend $300 dollars on a new cd deck and installation labor fees. Is the FM direct relay comparoable to an AUX input? It seems like that might be the cheapest route to take. I don't necessarily want cheap though. I just want to make it sound crystal clear. Any suggestions or comments would be useful! Thanks!

Best = Aux, Better = Cassette, Good = FM Relay, Static = Neutered FM Modulator alone.

Best Buy is going to hide all of my wires and make the Car Kit power off of the cd deck (sweet.) They're also going to wire the Car Kit through my cd deck so there are absolutely no wires around. The installer claimed that going through the back will provide the best sound, but if it doesn't I bought another cd deck that has an aux in right on the front. It will all be installed next Monday
