Default Studio, Favorites, Recording questions..

hello. couple of hopefully quick questions for you...

1) can yahoo music engine be uninstalled and studio still work?
2) is there any way to delete a favorite? was hoping it would have been in studio, but no control there.
3) what is the deal with recording? it doesn't always record, many times it says "fav added". this is via satellite, not internet. does the buffer of unit not have to be filled up? that is when i was having most issues (leave the unit on, go back thru the last hour and see if theres any tracks i want save). or are all these tracks actually flagged as what is allowable to record or not?

thanks. enjoying it so far

Yes. You can un-install it or or not install it at all. You can also un-install MSS ( My Sirius Studio) The issues seem to be with Microsoft Windows Media Player version 11. You need to download it to version 10 for MSS to recognize your unit.

I was not aware that the songs marked as favorites show up in MSS. But to delete a song in MSS, just highlite it and press the delete key. If you have it in a playlist, you can delete it there, but it will not delete it, it will only remove it from the playlist. You have to go to the device itself ( click on the Stiletto ) then you see all the songs on the stiletto. Pressing the delete key from this level actually deletes the song.

You can only record in Satelite mode. This includes putting it in the buffer too. In internet mode the pause becomes a Mute key. In internet mode, the love becomes an Add to Favorites key.

The buffer is an Hour long. You can schedule a recording that begins with the content in the buffer. This is important when you are listening to music and the song has already started and you press the love button. If the whole song from the beginning is in the buffer it will save the song from the beginning. If you just turned the channel to and the beginning of the song is not in the buffer, it will only save what it has.

The Stiletto is not exactly the same as the S50 with regard to using the buffer. You can only press the love button from Live listening. If the song is not the current song, I don't think you can love it. On the S50, you can press the love button any time. You can also do it from saved content and radio replays. There also was no limit on the amout of loved songs you could of save. The stiletto on the other hand has a 10 or 100 hr limit depending on which model you choose.

These Recording and Buffer Restrictions all are due to the restrictions that Sirius has agreed to with the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America)negotiations.

All the information is in this form. You just need to use the advanced search and find it. The FAQ is pretty good. Also now there is a Knowledge Base that people are starting to fill up with many of these answers. To get to the knowledge Base just press the Help button at the top.
