That won't work because the Stiletto doesn't have an SSMB connector on it.

May need to try one of them. I thought it was an SSMB.

After looking at the Amphenol website the Stilletto connector is not an SSMB, the SSMB connector is a mini-SMB connector and includes a locking ring.

Definately wouldn't work:

MYFI.jpg
That's the antenna connection for the MyFi (what that little thing plugs in to)

stiletto.jpg
Thats the bottom connector on the Stiletto.

It just doesn't match up.

My theory behind this whole thing is that if there is a way to transfer the antenna from the bottom connector of the stiletto to the antenna port on the car dock or home dock, there has got to be a way to do it with another dock and the same connecter that the headphones uses, I may just have to reposition the pins in which the antenna connector connects with. I can change the to connect to the power pins on the stiletto. I have looked at the previous posts and the adapters, but I really don't think that anything like that would work. Plus, it wouldn't lock onto the connector.

it all has to do with the headphone antennas. some where either in the headphone antenna circuit itself or the actual connector, SOMETHING tells the stiletto to use the external antenna port. Whether its powered or not is still a question, because at the same location with a dock powered antenna and the headset antenna the signals are different strength (powered is sronger).
So untill someone figures out what triggers the dock connector to 'turn on', you cant just plug a antenna into it (home or car). By the way if you hack a old XACT dock, thats the same connector, I done that and so have some others, but the trigger is still missing.

Ths is sort of like trying to turn lead into gold.

And I didnt like the Guest Chats persons answer to the question of a future remote antenna product. "not at this time".
Which translates to buy another dock.

We landed a man on the moon, we can figure this out !!!!

Maybe for my needs it would be just as simple to buy another car dock and leave the stiletto in it when I want to use it as a portable . Then I would have a place to plug in head phones and a car antenna . I wish their were parts available for these like their is XM related parts on Ebay so I wouldn`t have to buy a whole kit just to get the dock

Well that don`t work either . I didn`t realise when you disconnect the external power the antenna gets the ax to ........ that sucks my MYFI was so simple !

Maybe SIRIUS or someone could design a dock that is a combination belt clip/dock that provides an audio out and place to plug in a useful antenna when using it as a portable . The MYFI has one that just snaps around it and it can be used as a stand or a type of belt type clip . I used it to hang the MYFI on the front of my shirt button when running Hvy Equipment that way it don`t get crushed against armrests or the sides of the seat like it would attached to my belt plus I could see the "presets" but that a whole other thread . The headphone/antenna will not work in a cab in a machine that runs on 24 volts . I`m willing to give up the presets but I have to have an antenna ......... ARE YOU LISTENING SIRIUS ?

Read the chat transcript, we asked, and were told nothing is coming. Although, if we can get someone (Dab) to keep showing them that we want something better, and are willing to BUY it.....

I read the Chat and it don`t have to be SIRIUS as I mentioned... SIRIUS " OR " someone else can make it . I`m kinda hoping maybe someone like in Aftermarket will notice an oppertunity . Their are plenty of things made for SIRIUS and my XM MYFI that are not made by Delphi or SIRIUS . Antenna adaptor along with the repeater are both items that may attract Aftermarket . I have wallet in hand ...Build it !

My cash is in hand as well. If the headphones were a buyable item I'd just hack mine up and make a shoulder mount patch antenna with some velcro..
