Post ***Stiletto Antenna Adapter***

Hey all, I just wanted to let you all know that I'm currently working on making an antenna adapter that you can plug into the bottom of the stiletto and connect any Sirius antenna to it. Then you would only need your power source to get a strong signal, no home dock or car dock necessary. I plan on testing this tonight and I will let you know the results. If it works, I will post directions on how to make it.

Thanks, Jason

Wouldn't it be a great way to ditch the antenna headphones easily?

The GF is drying them as we speak. Also cooking dinner. Did you know that there is a clock on the coffee pot too?

How about some "Pre-Production" photos. We all want to see how you are attempting to do this.

Did you dismantle the headphone antenna and then solder on a home or car antenna. I was actually thinking about that.

I can't wait to see what you got!

I wish Jason luck, I think there is going to be a power issue. Somewhere in the antenna-phones the connector supplies power. I tried to take the connector apart, but any circuitry is molded in plastic.

Just did a quick check, 4+ Volts from the home dock antenna connector, Less than 1 Volt from the Stilletto antenna connector, 3.5 Volts at the coax end inside the antenna-phones.

There are 6 pins and the coax connection inside the antenna-phone connector, only 2 wires and the coax make it to the antenna pod. There is something in the connector that injects the power, or tells the Stilletto to turn on the power over the coax.

Actually, what my plan is, is taking my old home dock from the Kenwood Here2Anywhere and incorporating that into the antenna headphones. After seeing your headphone mod, you would be the best one to assist me with this if I have any questions. I wasn't able to get a full test last night as I was having more stuff going on at home than I expected, but luckily in my job, I work 4 10's and I'll have Fri, Sat and Sun to work on it and maybe come to completion. So that are my plans for the weekend, Antenna adapter and watch golf and football. If I have any quesitons, I'll PM you.
