Since the update my wi-fi drops out more. I was able to use it up in my room on wifi with no problems, no since the update it drops frequently up there. Being in the same room with the router its fine.

What can you do if you don't do as stated above?

I connected through Wi-Fi and got 100% download, then status changed to OK....

I waited a while (2 or 3 minutes) and figured I needed to "hold the power button down for 5 secs"... which I did... but I then realized I never saw the "Verifying Files" screens, etc.....

The ZAP and OS are still the old numbers and there is no clock, so the software update is not complete.... I connected through MSS and when checking for software updates it says "No updates are available"....

Been connected in Wi-Fi for 30 minutes now and there is no sign it wants to re-download....

Any suggestions???? Thanks in advance.

I tried that, see above.... It says "No software updates available"...

I think I will just let it sit for a while in Wi-Fi mode and see if it tries to download again.

Heather, Did you update by wifi or mss? I did one unit on wifi and one on mss, and just want to see if that is what caused the wifi problems.

Sorry your having a problem, but glad its not just me.

My complaint about clock, other than no alarm, is it blocks the "heart" and sat/terr/internet display. A little annoying while your driving. Maybe have the heart above the batt indicator and sat/terr/wifi over the signal strength.

On wifi, I have noticed once I drop signal, regaining it is much harder than before.

Is satellite reception better? I dunno , maybe a placebo effect? I wish the antenna amming screen had an Rf meter! (at least like those hidden in secret cell phone menus)

I have had to change channels or power cycle the stilletto to get the wifi back. Before the upgrade it would simply reconnect.

I also noticed that after a signal loss it will not find any of the networks (I have 4 access points in range of my livingroom) until the unit is powered down/up.

i meant dim...i dont want it to dim when its in the car dock, it makes it hard to see the screen.

2 or 3 minutes was not long enough. YOu should have just waited till you seen the screen pop up (Finishing Software Update) Look at the pictures in the step by step. You were impatient and didn't give it enough time. It never got through verifying the files. I said it takes a litte bit and it does...

Have you tried shutting down, removing the battery and then going into the MSS and attempting to manually download it?

If you've done that and can't get it to download let me know. Bottom line though is you got impatient and killed it before the process finished.

When you switch modes the sat/internet/replay/library comes up and then is replaced by the clock. Why on earth do you need to see this beyond switching modes? You can't remember which mode you are in? By the way the heart and the clock go back in fourth when you "LOVE" a song or record a program. So, not sure where you are coming from on that.

I have never seen the necessity in it showing what mode you are in, I think most of us pretty much know without cluttering the display with both that and the clock. You suffering from "Sometimers" sometime you remember which mode you are in and sometimes you don't? LOL

Gotcha that has always been a pet peeve of mine and I have complained about it a great deal. Not sure if this will be addressed in the future or not, but I sure hope so. To me it is just a common sense thing, when you are in the vehicle in broad daylight the display needs to be a full brite. The auto-dim should be able to be disabled.

I got impatient too and shut it down after it finished downloading but before the files were verified. I just put it back in WIFI and it eventually verified the files and started the installation itself. Just give it some time to finish and it should.

Also, I've never been able to get my updates through MSS. It didn't work with the first one and didn't with this one either. Not sure why....

Has anyone else lost the voice channel identifier? The option is set to on, but will not say the name of the channel when I switch stations.

Also, my extended battery was on the car dock all day and never reached a full charge.

Seems this update created some new bugs.
