While driving its distracting trying to tell if the remote really picked up the love command or not. (i'll turn up system sounds now so I can tell)
Also I guess i'm curios about sat vs. terrestrial mode 'cause there's supposed to be a terrestrial repeater in my town but i've never seen it.-yet

To me the display seems empty - i'd like to see a preview of whats ncoming up next and even from another channel preset. I could do without the lame wallpaper and moving desktop.

None of this matters cause I really want a good portable antenna with out need for a dock.

Also, my extended battery was on the car dock all day and never reached a full charge.
My voice tags are working just fine, the battery charging in the car dock has always, always been really slow. Heck charging it in the home dock is slow and takes hours. Today I used mine on battery for 9 hours straight and it will take it all night to recharge without even being on. Why the Stiletto is so slow to charge is very strange to me, but in my opinion that has nothing to do with this update since it has always been that way.

But maybe others have experienced an even longer recharge time with the update, I can't really say that.

I always just push the button and look at the display momentarily there is big heart that pops up, it very easy to see that it is recording from my drivers seat

The satellite and terrestrial signal has never been shown on the front display, you have to go into settings/antenna aiming to see that as with all PNP tuners. The only that shows on the display is the overall signal rather it is Sat or Terr isn't known.

You just talked about it being distracting to notice stuff while driving, yet you want to clutter up the display and make it twice as difficult. Like you'll be able to see what is coming up next while driving. LOL Keep your eyes on the road and keep all that clutter off the display. hehehe I enjoy the backgrounds, which they were customizeable. The moving blowing background could go bye bye that wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit.

I'd like to have a portable antenna that plugs directly into the Stiletto myself, but not to use in my vehicle. The dock is the only way to go in a vehicle in my opinion. Bit I could sure thing of many other uses for it. Though I guess if I traveled with someone else having that ability would be real nice.

Default Sirius Studio not recognizing stiletto

Sorry if this has already been addressed but I'm not able to check for the update online b/c Sirius Studio isn't showing the Stiletto on the screen to allow me to click on "check for updates." When I connect the USB, my computer recognizes the Stiletto and asks if I want to transfer music, take no action, etc. and the Stiletto says "Connect to PC" or whatever it says. Not sure what the problem is....already disconnected battery and it didn't help.

It seems like the Voice Tag actions have changed since the update. Now, the voice tags only appear when scrolling through the channel list, before you select a channel to listen to.

Previously, the voice tags would activate, not only while scrolling, but once you select the channel and then once again, when the channel is locked in.

I don't have a strong feeling about this change but, did miss it at first. Now, I'm used to it.

Default Trouble using WiFi

When I'm connecting via WiFi everything is fine. When I lose the WiFi signal is when the problem starts. I'll try going back through WiFi and then it'll ask me to verify my subscription first by accessing SIRIUS via Satellite. I've never seen this before the firmware update. The only way I can get WiFi to work again is to walk around outside, hope to retrieve Satellite signal, and then finally go back to WiFi. Has anyone else experienced this? This basically means that everytime I loose WiFi signal I have to try to get Satellite signal and then go back to WiFi hoping that my "subscription has been verified." Anyone else having this problem?

I had this issue the first day I got my brand new Stiletto. It happened a few times. But it was because I subscribed my Stiletto, then immediately came in and tried to use the Wifi. Finally I used it on Satellite for awhile and once I did this I never had the problem again.

I've not seen this problem since and I've not since it since the upgrade.

It is also intresting that some of you are having some issues with the Wifi. I can't seem to recreate the problem associated with losing the signal and having to shut down in order to get my Wifi to work again. I've done it about 5 or 6 times and each time it just logs me right back in.

I have also not noticed any decrease or increase in signal strength since upgrading. I've read both reports, some say now its better, others are saying now they are getting drop-outs. Either way keep the reports coming.

Dab,

I have one with no change at all, one with problems with wifi, same access point, side by side. Almost like the dead car docks in last years S50 update.

I actually walked outside (very cold) and down the street with both units streaming wifi. One quits some 20-30 feet before the other.

You know I am not sure that proves much of anything. My son and I both have Motorola Razr with the same service. His for whatever reason gets poorer reception than mine, yet everything about these phones are the same, including the firmware.

Had you done this exact comparison previsouly to have a baseline? I honestly can't say that this upgrade did or didn't impact your reception, but unless we see a lot of reports of this, I am inclined to conclude probably not. When and if you did this exact comparison before did they match up evenly in regards to Wifi reception?

Right now I think we see some saying.. oh my reception via Wifi has really improved, some are saying... Oh I am now getting drop-outs that I never had before. I am not saying that isn't correct, but it just strikes me as odd. Seems if it screwed up ones wifi it would screw up every ones wifi or if it improved ones wifi it would improve every ones. I personally see no change, but I only have one Stiletto, but I've often seen electronics that are the same not perform exactly the same either. Once we get more feedback, I will flag them on this issue.

I really appreciate your feedback... Thanks

Dab, I did a test before the upgrade, sometime last week, for another post. Both units performed to the same distance. After the upgrade one has decreased by some 20-30 feet. If I run through the recovery procedure will the firmware be pushed back?

I do know that I had been using the wifi everywhere in my house without drops. Now the 'bad' unit drops often.

There is no way to push back to the previous version ZAP, OS or Baseband once they are upgraded. The Recovery server has now been upgraded to the new ZAP, OS and Baseband as well.

I can live with that. But it would be great if they could at least make the unit more capable when it comes to connecting to WPA-type wireless points. Especially if it's a shared-key type WPA network.

As for new, non-WiFi, features I'd still like to see:

1. Artist/song alert. The S10 has it. The S100 should have it too. It's all fine and good to be able to record songs but that's not the point. There are many times that I don't know that I want to hear a particular song/artist until suddenly the alert pops up and I think, "Yeah! Some Rush would be great right now!"

2. The ability to assign the jump button to a station other than one of the weather/traffic stations. You can do this on just about every other radio. Why not this one?

3. A programmable sleep timer. (minor)

But don't get me wrong. I'm loving the S100. If I could get it to connect to the WiFi network at work, it would be almost perfect.

Croptop,

From a post I did earlier...

"According to my testing it supports Open Systems, WEP-64 bit, WEP-128 bit, WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK (these are considered WPA Personal). The Stiletto does not seem to care about the Preamble length.

Does not support WEP-152 bit, or any of the WPA with EAP user authentication(Business). It will not work on a 802.11A router, or one with the G only clients set to on, it also will not work with any proprietary "turbo" modes."

It does support shared key systems, just not User authenticated (EAP/LEAP) systems.

Just so you guys will know, the artist/song seek, recording from wifi or radio replays is OFF THE TABLE!! Not going to happen. You can keep asking for it, but there really isn't much point to it.

The 3 things I'd like to see on a priority list.

1. 128kb streaming from the Stiletto
2. Auto-dimming user configurable or at least the ability to turn it off.
3. Auto shut-down user configurable or at least the ability to turn it off.
