Try the recovery procedure, something may have been corrupted in the upgrade. You will lose all of your stored content, but it may get your running.

Oh man! Lose everything stored?! Good thing is it's a 10 so its not too much. Bad thing is Elmos World is on there and is a lifesaver! I am going to try for another day or 2. Is there any way to just re-install again?

I've tried updating my stiletto 100 four times now and keep getting this error

Stiletto.CouldnotupdatedeviceException:Could not download system update files

The error comes up after the 3rd of 5 files is downloaded.

I removed the battery between each attempt and tried different USB ports. I don't have wireless yet so that is not an option.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Almost sounds like something on the PC is killing the load. Try turning off any antivirus/antispyware programs.

Default Home Dock Upgrade Features

All - Finally got my upgrade done today....and noticed the home dock upgrade mentioned in previous posts....was wondering about the features?

On a seperate note - I had one of the first SL100s from the first batch at the local Circuit City when they first came out....I never received an update over wifi nor could do it with MSS...I didn't fret until the latest update came out so I called in today (after reading 21 pages of posts to see if anyone else had the same problem) and they had me do a full reboot of the Stiletto. This wiped EVERYTHING out. I'm not recommending it, but the tech (who knew his stuff) said this was the last resort and he's heard this several times. So, for those still having issues, he told me to hold the "options" and "display" while turning the until on from being completely off to do a software recovery. I'm not recommending or endorsing this (nor will be held liable for any damages ) - but since people were having problems I wanted to let them know that my months of nonupgrading and being lazy (ie not returning to the store) paid off....and figured it could help others still having a problem (again, please call support for them to recommend before doing this).

Yes I had this same issue while trying to do the update for my SL10 on a family members computer. My error came up after the first file.... VCDHawk mentiond the anti virus software. You may want to try this....while I was unsuccessful in my attempts it sounds like this could be the problem. The computer I was on was running the Norton anti virus and kept giving me a pop up at the begining saying that the anti virus software doesn't recognize the download. I think if I had turned this off(how?) I might have been able to get the update....

I tried disabling my anti-virus program and did a full recovery, still get the error message after the 3rd of 5 files is dowloaded. Now I have an even older version that I can't update! I'm ready to smash this thing.

Any one else have any ideas?

Do you have anyone in the area with an open access point. Maybe a local diner/coffee shop. (Sorry, I'm from Jersey, the home of the all night Diners)

So do you cringe when the native Bostonians call Boston "The City"?

I'd really like to not recover, but I think I may have to. It works fine portable and in home dock. But in car dock, it maybe works for 30sec-2 minutes. Everything from just lock-ups, stuck audio, resets, black screen, strange noises. All crazy stuff that I never had prior to new software! The clock at the bottom certainly was not worth this, I should have left it alone. Is there anything I can do just to the car dock w/o recovering the unit? Or is it an all or nothing deal?

Default Thank You!!!!

I've never been able to get My Sirius Studio to work on my PC. Calls to 1-800-869-5364 have been a waste of time; Siruis Product Support can only suggest call my PC manufacturer (Dell) for answer as to why I can get the software to run on my PC. Right; like Dell is really going to help.

The Siruis Product Support person also added that using My Sirius Studio is the only way I will be able to get updates to my Stilletto. What use are these folks if they don't even know their own products!

Again; thanks for the post.

Ok; now if anyone can direct me to a post/forum thread that could help with the problem I'm having not being able to run My Sirius Studio on my PC; at all; I'd appreciate it.

I first thought that since I've read the software is a memory hog that might be the issue, but I've just upgraded my PC to a gig and still no go.

You are not the only one with this issue. This is more common than you think. Sometimes it's Windows Media Player version 11 that's the culpret, but in most cases it ends up re-installing windows. and sometimes that does not solve the problem either. Search the forums for things that people have tried. somtimes it's just quicker to go to another PC or a friends pc and try re-installing MSS and see if it connects to that PC.

Do the simple stuff first. make sure you have the lastest Microsoft updates. Then if you have have media Player 11, uninstall this and go back to version 10. Sirius support does not help much with this type of problem so callling them is a waste of time.

Good Luck.
