Your logic doesn't make sense.
I did the update about 3 days ago on my Stiletto 10. Since then it stutters and crashes or freezes in two different vehicle docks and my home dock. I tried taking the battery out, called the support line - they had me reset everything, nothing has worked. The support person told me to take it back to the store. I'm also concerned about the updates as the S10 was working well before. Any other suggestions? Will the store (Best Buy) take just the S10 or will I have to pull the vehicle kit out too?

I think since the updates, it could have made your unit faulty. So I suggest if you bought your Stiletto 10 within the 90 days return policy and I believe it 90 days? return it and try get an exchange or get your money back and buy a new unit or did you buy a warranty deal for it?

It was bought in December sometime (was a gift). Yeah, I'll take it back - I've seen there've only been a few similar problems, so hopefully the new one will work. I wonder if there is range of serial numbers to avoid...I don't think the store would have gone through very many shipments of the S10 since Christmas.

I just bought a Stiletto 10 from sirius.com (1/2 price, plus 20% off thanks to howard20!) - will it come with the latest updates, or will I have to follow the instructions posted here? How can I tell?

Steve - new to Sirius!

WHOA! This is exactly what mine is doing since the wonderful "update". Boy do i wish I didn't do that thing. Does yours work fine in portable and home kit use? Mine does, but does CRAZY things once in the car dock.

Do exactly what they recommend, take it back. I have no idea why it is but apparently there are some of the S10's that have had this problem since the update. The strange thing is that the bulk of them do not have this issue. We've had at least 2 or 3 folks that I know of that had this issue, returned them, got a new one, did the update and have never had the issue on the new one. So, this appears to be hardware related and not update related. Though the update actually does kick it off.

I don't have a S10, I am tempted to get one just to be able to test out some of the things you guys report so that I could do a better job of passing along issues. But I know on the S100 because the sat chip isn't turning off when you switch to Library or Replay mode, this has been linked to causing the stuttering/skipping. My S100 will do it, but once I go to Wifi Mode, which I know forces the sat chip off, I never see the problem.

I was able to do the update with no problems... My only concern is that when we turn the car off, the stilletto now shuts off instead of going into sleep mode as it always did before. Does anyone else have this problem?
Also, i miss the channel announcements when you switch channels. Love the clock!

No mine still goes into sleep mode just like it always did. I have had it do a hard shut down before, but not in this situation. In fact it has been a while since I've had it shut down without me actually doing the hard shut down myself.

Default 99% verifying... forever!

How long is it supposed to verify for? Mine gets to 99%, and never finishes. I've let it sit an hour on this screen. I've tried this three times (through the whole downloading process)...and same thing.

??

Every once in a while, usually when I have pulled the power of the dock and reset it, one of mine has done this too. I just think it somehow gets corrupted and re-initializes itself and gets any updates from the stiletto.

I don't think there was anything new.

I'm sure if there was another update, DAB would let us know.

There has been no new update, but I am pretty sure they are working on one.

I just got my SL-10 on Friday, and did the software update via MSS. I finally activated my radio today (Saturday) and I notice I"m getting Sirius 186 Hardcore Sports Radio!

Have anyone seen this "Technical Bulletin"? I came across this just by chance. Interesting read and to my knowledge this is the first document I've ever seen where SIRIUS actually tells what an update was suppose to have fixed.

Check it out yourself.... http://www.sirius.com/gs/stiletto/te...lletin0207.pdf
