Thanks for the clarification. I will go and download and install the the complete package. I was wondering now if that is the reason why my MSS does not see the OS upgrade package as well? Never know now since I connected my device via Wi-Fi and received the new code.
Funny part is that Sirius support said that maybe my device does not support the new OS level. I guess it is always hard to find good support help.

Default Update SL10 or not?

I apologize in advance, but I have read the previous posts and I'm confused. I am a pretty new Stiletto owner which I purchased from Sirius through the 50% off (with the additional Howard 20%). I have verified that I have an old ZAP, OS, and car dock version. Everything has been working OK and I am a little hesitant to upgrade based on previous posts. Are my concerns unwarranted at this point?

sorry for the late reply GB33. Mine did the stutter and crash in my home dock and both car docks. I took it back to Best Buy, it wasn't painful at all. Did the update and everything worked fine. No issues since the exchange at all.

tdan: it's just my $.02, but you should definitely do the upgrade. no worries here and i've had the unit since the day it was released.

Having purchased the 50% off SL10 and doing the upgrade only to find it totally unusable. My suggestion is to wait till the next update. I am usually not so conservative or cautious, but the upgrade of the SL10 and the manner in which it became totally unusable has left me feeling this way. Strange thing is I've never experienced this with the SL100.

I'd say your concerns are very, very warranted and would proceed with caution!

Thanks to all for your replies. Since DAB purchased his using the same method as I, and since he had problems, I have chosen to wait and update later.

My S100 isn't letting me update. It doesn't tell me about an update VIA WiFi, nor does it let me update using MSS. It says "There are no updates" when trying to use MSS. My version is WAY older than what's posted!

Oh well.

The only known fix for this issue is to do the recovery procedure. This will wipe the device and install the latest ZAP/OS. So, it will be like it is brand new out of the box. (you will lose anything you have saved) Those that have done this found the next time an update came out they were then able to update successfully. I am not sure what gets out of whack that prevents it from updating.

Thanks! I'm going to try that.

Update: ThanksĀ². It worked!

I love this forum, compared to the uselessness of the other one that likes to rip on you when you say...

XM SOUND QUALITY SUCKS!!!

GREAT SuperH I am glad it worked out for you! You'll get to test it updating again hopefully by the end of the month.
